Try this site, It's called JAVA animals. http://www.jzoo.com/java/ Once you are there you can click on the link you want to see. If you use the black triangular arrows on the right and left top of the screen they will take you to the next screen and its information.

Edward, that's a button hook. Unfortunately, I remember those little stinkers. I didn't wear them, my grreat-grandmother did. LOL!

Difficult to describe, but it is a tool with a short handle, with a small curved hook on the end of a metal rod, extending from the handle.

This tool facilitated buttoning women's shoes which had buttons that had to be inserted into elastic loops.

The "hooked end" was inserted through the loop, then the button was "grabbed" and pulled through the loop, and released.
Circa 1800s-early 1900s.
