My eldest daughter is 'sensitive ' and seems to attract energies within the home(sees them),lights,Angelic script (her words),and even when she was really young a woman with a carving knife in the kitchen(she saw this apparition quite a lot).Anyway about a year ago I took some family photos, one of her with George our dog whom she adores(her best friend),she was holding him. When I viewed that shot ,there was this (what can only be described as an orb of light) between her arm and the dog`s mouth. Now I`ve tried to be logical with the explanation here, reflection of something in the light, but where photo was taken cant see how.Any intelligent opinions guys ?

Could be any number of things ranging from what we (photographers) call a "hot spot", generally created when the flash hits something very light, such as clothing, skin, or metal or plastic or glass.
Could be a defect in film from the manufacturer or a defect in chemicals or processing at the lab.
Could be the camera. Even the smallest light leak will cause huge problems like this.
In over 20 years as a photographer, I have personally seen every one of these things cause a problem with a photo. Never have I seen any "ghosts". You may think I am not in the right places, but I do use cemeteries 80% of the time. . . if there was something to see, you would think it would be there.
I have also spent about 10 years as a forensic photographer - lots of death - and haven't seen anything that couldn't be explained.

Provide scientific data, then we'll talk. Take the negative or digital equivalent somewhere other than where you are now developing your film and have them print the same pictures to show it's not the equipment.
Take other pictures similar to the one you've taken, at the approximate same time of day, same season, same basic shot etc., and see if it happens again.
Have your daughter's eyes examined. I'm not trying to call her a liar or anything, but it is possible that her other 'sensitivities' are from a medical condition. It would be good to know.
I have found that if people will seek more knowledge about these strange phenomenom's, they almost always find a logical explanation eventually. Not all, but most.
Good luck to you!

I hope you pay no attention to those who have said your daughter could be suffering from a mental illness. She most certainly is not, but you know this! She has a gift and I hope you are not telling her she's not really seeing these things. Ghosts and spirits don't hurt people so I hope you know your family has nothing to fear. She should tell the lady with the knife and any other spirits she sees that they are dead and they need to go to God. As for the orb of light, that is most likely a spirit that also needs to be told to go. Many years ago I laughed and scoffed at all this stuff. I made fun of my sister-in-law going to a psychic. I had a couple of life changing experiences and I've seen things and I no longer laugh or scoff at any of it.

Very cool. For a while I believed in ghosts. But there is a logical explanation for the orb of light. Even though do not believe in ghosts, it is possible, of course, that they do exist. However, if they do, they are the ones in human form, (The ones that cannot be so easily explained away), as opposed to orbs of light. There have been many experiments done to show that mere dust particles often show up as what believers would call "orbs". Your eldest daughter may very well be attune at a higher level than most of us, but it is a mistake to misinterpret every blemish on a photo for a ghost.

Just to be clear, my belief in a God is very limited. In fact, it's so limited I'm not sure why I just capitalized the word.
I'm just going to be blunt here. You can believe whatever you want about it, but the chances she is seeing "Angelic script" and a "Woman with a knife" are limited. I'm not saying she didn't see it, but whether or not it was actually there is a totally different story. This light could have been caused by a number of things, but I'm willing to bet you a guardian angel would have been a bit more careful than to get caught in a camera flash.

Sometimes if a flash is used a speck of dust otherwise invisible will flare in a photo, just some dust flying about in the room or pollen ..you know. Some cameras seem to pick these up more than others anyway they are quite common so you're choice is dust or a spirit..

It's either a reflection or a processing/printing error.
If your daughter believes these things I suggest that you might want to have her examined for a mental illness. Now, I do understand that there are a lot of perfectly sane people who believe in things like these, but seeing apparitions and "Angelic script" may be an early sign of a serious mental illness.

You may not be seeing reflection, however you may be seeing refraction from the light, It could have been broken up due to angle at which the lens presents itself to the sun or other source of light, (45 degrees) herefore the orb may not be an orb as such it could be excess absorption of light by the the film.

It's quite obvious you have captured an orb in the photo. A ghost - lucky you - and it's not uncommon. Your daughter should try and find out who the woman in the kitchen was, she may be asking for help.
