I was the class "egghead" and everyone was really nice to me. I wasn't what you would call pretty girl popular, but I treated everyone the same and basically was accepted by all of the various groups for who I was. I was their walkin' talkin' dictionary and anybody could come to me for help on any kind of academic question. I was rather shy, though, and they were always trying to get me out of my shell. I ended up as the class valedictorian and got several rounds of applause from the class because my speech was a little cynical and it was for THEM, not the parents. Some of the parents didn't like the speech...but the students did because I spoke OUR truth, things that I had thought for years but had never voiced. That night in front of my peers who had stood up for me for years, I let it rip...for THEM, loud and clear.
I missed my 5th and 10th class reunions and finally got to go to my 15th. I was voted most changed because as soon as I left home at 17 the week after high school graduation, I came out of my shell, worked my way through school, learned to love life and people and studied hard, worked hard, and played hard. Since then, I have moved back to the area and whenever I see anyone from our class, they hug me and we talk and I get calls all the time from them. I get calls and e-mails from all over the world...especially since I never changed my name when I got married so I'm really easy to find. High school was not the best time of my life...every day is the best day of my life! And that seems to make me popular. I guess that attitude is what does it.

Yes I was popular. I was a cheer leader. But I also tried to treat everyone the same. I didn't get into the clicks. I liked and was nice to the geeks as well as the jocks etc... Actually I sometimes preferred being around the geeks, they are not stuck up or full of themselves. Plus I tried just to be myself, and not a plastic Barbie doll type.

I wasn't the most popular person in High school, however i was untouchable. The way you make yourself untouchable is to be sure about yourself, what your intrests are, what you are good at etc, and always be pleasent to everyone, if someone trys to provoke a reaction don't give them the satifaction. they will get the message eventually and they wont care.

I was not popular in high school but the ironic thing now is all my former classmates look up to me and say how much they admired me back then. Amazing how time changes people's attitudes, isn't it?

No. I wasn't UNpopular either. Just one of those kids stuck in the middle of the high school ranks. I found that it was easier and way more fun to just be nice to everyone and be friends with a lot of different kinds of groups. I participated in a lot of weird activities: sports, drama, band, student council so I was able to meet everyone. It really opens you up to a lot of new ideas.

yes i was popular in high school .
funny thing is , i was a nerd , wasnt sporty at all... all i did was became genuinely a friend to everyone , they needed a tutor , so i helped and tutored them , they told their friend about me , and i ended up helping a lot of people , even with advice and stuff , so i ended up being liked by a lot of students at the school because of my helping nature and some have even said because my sense of humor and laid back attitude...i think it was because i was being myself.

Nope. I was anti-popular and proud of it. The popular kids may actually have been a bit frightened of me....

Actually, I'm just in 1st year high, although I WAS popular in grade school.
Why? I was smart, pretty and nice to all my classmates.
But still, I never wanted to be popular... >_<

No, I wasn't. I always did my own thing. I realized how trivial high school life was when I went to college. WoW! The world really changed!
