The only way you will overcome this is to pass through that barrier. I'm sure once you have overcome this the first time it will be a lot easier the following times, especially if you give a great performance. Good luck.

There are a number of exercises you can do to get over this, but which you need to do depends on whether you need to feel more confident, or you're actually afraid and need to overcome the fear, as they will be different depending on which it is that you want?

When your in your drama lesson stand there look at everyone else room even the people that are always over doing it and realise that there just the same as you, probably a little bit scared and nervous. its a natural human thing to feel the way you do and remember do things for you and not anyone else then you'll feel more confident it worked for me it'll work for you.

The easiest way to become more confident is to ACT more confident.

Remember that there is no such thing as a confident person. Really. There are only people who ACT confident on a consistent basis.

Plus, the more you ACT confidently (stand up straight, speak loudly, slowly and clearly) the more you will actually FEEL confident.

Believing in yourself that you are good enough & that it's all for fun is a good start. Try & forget that you are in front of an audience, when I give a presentation or speech, I try not to focus on an individual person or head, rather, I pretend that I am just practising at home (lol, yes I talk to myself at home pretending that I'm in front of an audience, lol) it's when I look directly at someone that I get anxious & slip up. Give it a go, it's all for fun babe :o)

Look at the mirror and say:
U dumbass don't screw this one! Then Smile....

Just relax okay... Always think positive and gather some support from friends. Knowing they are with you through this, you feel more confident. Oh yeah, don't sleep late before a performance. The more relaxed you are, the more you won't feel nervous. :)

Just remember to have faith ion yourself as a person –learn to like & be yourself. Feel confident about your decisions in life & this should help- also try not to care what people think of you …
just think that you will great - you should be the first fan of yourself

There is a number of things you could do.
What has worked for me is to pretend that the within the audience is one person that always makes you feel safe and the rest kind of falls into place.

Dont consider yourself to be not as capable as others, you are just as good as they are, and at somethings you will be better than they are. No one was ever born great, others confidence has come about by them getting out there and feeling good about themselves without being cocky. Dont cower away, let yourself be heard, if you've got something to say, then we want to hear it...loud & clear.
Good luck

I was a really shy person in the past just because I worried too much about what others around me thought. Now, I don't really care. If you can learn to not worry about what others think about you, then this will help your confidence greatly. xx
