Sure, once in a while like that is fine.
Just don't let it become a significant portion of their diet, for all the reasons other have already mentioned.
Think of it as kitty candy. You and I might enjoy a Snickers once in a while, and it won't do us any harm, but we wouldn't do well if we tried to live on them. Same with cats and people food like tuna.

Yes it is okay to give your cat tuna out of can a few times a month.
I have 2 cats myself. My cats love tuna out of the can. When there not getting that I give them Friskies cat food with Tuna and sea food flavor in as they just go nuts for it.

NO! Canned "people" tuna is very dangerous for cats!! It can cause all sorts of health problems. It doesn't contain the proper nutrients for your cat's diet and is too fatty for them to digest properly. It can cause a disease called steatitis which is inflamation of the fatty tissue in the body caused by a lack of vitamin E. They also can become "addicted" to it so they won't eat proper food. You can get cat food which has a little tuna in it as a treat for your cat.

When I run out of cat food, I'll give them regular tuna until I can get to the market and buy more cat food. My dogs like to lick the inside of the can as well.

Too much tuna can cause crystals in the cats urine and cause some serious and expensive problems.
But, cats love tuna and a little lick or two every now and again is a special treat and shouldn't hurt them.

I think it's okay to give them a little here and there, but there are places like Trader Joes that sells tuna especially made for cats and it's really cheap (~30 cents/can). My cats love it.

What I do is get a lot of tuna in brine for myself (never in oil... that's too heavy for me; I prefer to make it tastier in other ways), and I pour out the brine in my cat's bowl. I saw my hots mother in the US do that for her cat and it seems to work - my cat loves it. That way I can avoid giving him a big quantity of tuna all at once; he loves the taste, and he is happy. Mind you, I don't open a new tuna can more often than once a week, usually a lot less often, so it's a treat for him.
But I strongly support diversifying cat food. Like, my cat adores canned corn (canned in water only, mind you), he would prefer it to his formula, even canned food, any day. I don't give him too much of it either...

I give my cats canned tuna several times a month, and they love it. I don't think it hurts anything. It is like a special treat to them.

My vet said it was fine. Make it a small amount as a treat. They also can have the water that you drain out of the tuna can. My cats go crazy for it.

Cats can be allergic to fish & beef, but if yours seem happy and healthy then I don't think it's a problem. Get them tuna in brine if you must, as the one in oil makes it too rich for them. Otherwise, as others have suggested, get the specially made tuna for cats.
