That would depend on THEIR beliefs.

No. God doesn't exist.
I'm an artist and god has nothing to do with my work. Why would you want to cheapen one's work by telling them that the inspiration isn't their own? I'm extremely offended when people tell me things like "god is responsible for all of your good deeds" and "god is the reason you have a good job" or whatever... the truth is, god isn't real, god doesn't do anything. I love how people will believe that they are so special that god steers their car out of the way of an accident in a close call... but then doesn't answer the prayers of starving children. It's an insult to humanity and it needs to stop!

It Definately happens (although many artists, writers and movie makers are inspired by other things, like poverty), the people who say they aren't either aren't good christians or are to prideful and believe all their abilities come from themselves!!!!!!
I can definately tell sometimes wether someone was inspired and it makes the song, book or picture of art so much more meaningful!!!!
Christopher Columbus was inspired by God and look where it got the rest of the world!!!! So were the founding fathers!!!!!!

Sure, some of them. Like Mel Gibson admitted that god had a plan for his acting career - to make the movie THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST. For God said he will not came before all have heard of him. This was a inspiration from God to get a lot of people aware of Him.

attempt Lust for existence: Kirk Douglas provides an Oscar-nominated overall performance in Vincente Minelli's version of Irving Stone's torrid existence of Vincent van Gogh. It perpetuates the romantic fable of the tortured artist (quite a few the superb are ok-adjusted, you comprehend!) yet is an relaxing, if no longer completely precise, portrait of an incredible artist. Made in 1956, some will discover it dated on a similar time as others will appreciate it as a classic.

No, inspiration comes from many sources, other people, nature, other works of art, it's limitless... no doubt some artists find inspiration in religion but some artists find inspiration in the bathroom sink or a porcelain urinal as did Duchamp.

Oh yes, definitely.
"I had the curiosity to place a mirror before me; and ere long saw reflected there, a curious involved worming and undulation in the atmosphere over my head. The invariable moisture of my hair, while plunged in deep thought, after six cups of hot tea in my thin shingled attic, of an August noon; this seems an additional argument for the above supposition. And how nobly it raises our conceit of the mighty, misty monster, to behold him solemnly sailing through a calm tropical sea; his vast, mild head overhung by a canopy of vapor, engendered by his incommunicable contemplations, and that vapor --as you will sometimes see it --glorified by a rainbow, as if Heaven itself had put its seal upon his thoughts. For, d'ye see, rainbows do not visit the clear air; they only irradiate vapor. And so, through all the thick mists of the dim doubts in my mind, divine intuitions now and then shoot, enkindling my fog with a heavenly ray. And for this I thank God; for all have doubts; many deny; but doubts or denials, few along with them, have intuitions. Doubts of all things earthly, and intuitions of some things heavenly; this combination makes neither believer nor infidel, but makes a man who regards them both with equal eye."

No way! There might be a God but I can´t think of Him as an entity that would give tips to artists.

All human being are moved by God, but not precisely inspired, they are just managing one of their seven intelligences more than the rest, because even among them some are more brilliant than the others .If you don't have information about the seven intelligences , find it out in the web.
