Mostly because people think it is free. In a way it is. Other than that it all comes down to what you do with your computer. I can't use it because of what I do. I have no problems with windows but did for a while long ago. No crashes and other problems with XP Pro. +. If it works for you then I think it is the one to use because few bother to attack it so far. The security is not better, it is because it is Microsoft that people pick on that makes the difference. Linux is just fine for many uses.

You can see the source if you want too. Which can give you more confidence that there's nothing in the code that will spy on your activities.
At the moment linux is more secure than Windows because there are fewer viruses created for Linux, Macintosh than WIndows

It's not as big as windows & doesn't take up much space & it's really stable, & best of all it's open source.

windows is better because you can open it a cool breeze wil come in and cool the whole place....
