Is it the Greek Orthodox, Roman Catholic, Protestant, Ethiopic, Coptic or the Syriac? Please note that they contain different number of books. It is just not the "oh! those are different translations".

Imagine that you tell a story (real or not, doesn't matter), and somebody tells it to somebody else, and so on, for a hundred years, and then some people decide to write the story down, how many versions do you think you would get??
Furthermore, imagine the story would be written down in a complex and weird language and then, hundreds of years later people would try and translate it into "modern" languages, just take a guess how many versions you would have by then!!

These books are written by people (mostly old and experienced in many respects about life) who gave their own (not some voice descending from Heaven!) views and reflections about the world and existence! Anyone for instance could write the bible on his own today with less time as bible scribes did! Don't know really much about other "holy" books but in the beginning of the Book of acts (forgot the verse), an apostle who replaced Judas the betrayer was chosen when the remaining disciples cast lots (not divine inspiration) as well as books of the bible which were chosen by the church not by divine inspiration but by casting lots!

The fundametal belief is; Believe in One,Unique,Absolute,Formless Deity and 2. the belief in the Life Hereafter. Whichever holy Book has this Message, it is from The Almighty and to that extent the Message is from God,Allah,Yahweh,Adonai,Parmatma,Prabhu, AhuraMazda, and is called Revelation and not Inspiration. We are from Him and to Him is the going back to home. Mylord Jesus did not speak English so the word:God' was not uttered by mylord. Seek and thou shall find---The Truth.
