Well the opinions you are getting here all seem to be a little biased, In my opinion you and they should look at the perspective operations that each of these units are trained for, for one all Ranger, Force recon Marines, AFSOC (Air force), Seals (Navy), Army Special Forces, Army Delta (1st SFOD-D) are all combined into what is called Special Operations Command, therfore they are all Special Operations units and often times work hand in hand with each other, So in my opinion after 26 years in service and having operated with all these Units at one time or another they are all very good at what they do. It isnt right by any standard to say that one is better than the other, this is just a lot of head swelling going on between those who have served in any branch of the service and have not hit full maturity as of yet, and if this offends any of you out there, well sorry but the truth has to hurt a little sometimes. Look the truth behind the matter is that while all this talk amongst the different branches of service about what Special Ops unit is better than the other is for the most part just fun and games( as it always has been) It isnt for those of us that are part of the Special Ops comunity, Because once you serve under intense conditions with each of these different segments of services you mature and learn to respect each other for what they are (Profesionals) and Brothers. Oh and for any of you out there Delta Team members are hand picked from all branches of the U.S services including forighn services such as British SAS, and IDF Special Ops among others.

Consider this. If you want to be a Marine all you have to do is sign up and you'll probably pass Boot Camp and presto you're a Marine. If you want to be a ranger you have to pass OSUT (BCT + Infantry school) Airborne School, and RIP and eventually head off to Ranger School. Becoming a ranger is much more difficult than just enlisting as a Marine. Basically any Ranger could've been a Marine but not any Marine could've become a ranger.

Delta force is the best
DEAR IDIOT BELOW ME:
the rangers are a real unit,
75th Ranger Regiment
Stationed at Ft Benning, Hunter Army Airfield and Ft Lewis
there are 3 battallions. They are the army's premiere light infantry unit. Thats all they are, glorified light infantry. They are bad asses and they blow the f out some stuff. But delta is more high speed, they are suited for smaller more clandestine operations.

First off, The Delta Force is an Army spec ops unit. Rangers despite what people believe due to Hollywood are not special forces unit.
Now, each special forces unit in the military is adept @ many skills including: Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape (SEALs have S.E.R.E as I am sure some of you saw on GI Jane). For this reason you really can't compare which force is the best.
Edit. The Rangers in the 75th are the ONLY ones who are special forces, the individuals in normal units (82nd airborne or 101st for example) are not actually special forces.

Lord we have a bunch of educated idiots answering this question.
Rangers, Special Forces and Delta all fall under the Special Operations Command.
All are effective in their specific METL tasks.
They also many times do combined operations...
and...Delta isn't an Army unit.
Marines fall under the Sec Nav.
