my 214 and there is nothing in my records. the VA is denying me benefits cause they say that there is no proof that i was ever there. the VA rep tells me he don't know where to look

The national archives might have info.

If not, consider writing to some of the guys you were in with if they can verify you were there, you should be able to get the VA to acknowledge. Do you have any photos that could help prove you were there?

What unit and what time period?

I'd be willing to do some searching later today.

You would need to get a copy of your service record which is held at the National Archives center in St Louis, MO. I believe it is called ARPERSCOM. You can probably contact a VA rep to get the exact mailing address for it to request a complete copy of your records. Another source is the Disabled American Veterans (DAV). Even if you are not disabled, they can assist you in obtaining what you need...trust me...I have used them in the past.

if you were honorably discharged from the military they can't deny you service. Call the national VA.

If it isnt on your 214, you either didnt, or should have had it fixed 30 years ago. I don't believe you either.
