u gotta be straight out with him, sit down and talk to him. For me i would say that because the timming is wrong you can not be in a realationship for me it was easy, i was always depressed and i didnt wanna drag my bf down with me anymore, Just tell him you need to find urself and figure what u want from life. Whether u want to study, have a new career, travel. Tell him it wouldnt be fair on him if u dnt kno what u want ur confused and have mix emotions, what u couldnt be feeling now could change in 5 mins times. its a bit hard cause i dnt kno much about ur situation, hope its helped goodluck

Its very hard but you can do one of two things:
1. When they are at work put all there stuff outside and change the locks.
2. Move when they are at work.
The good thing about number 2 is that as long as you don't leave a forwarding address no confrontation.

You have got to say something but dont make it out be anyones fault, just that you have moved on and are not happy anymore. Dont use the friends line as its unlikely that you will stay friends, and the other person will be expecting it but you wont want to lead them on. the best thing to do is to go seperate ways.
it wont be easy and there will be times when you are not sure if you have made the right decision, but if you are not ahppy then you have to get on with your life and so does your partner.
hope this helps
good luck to you xxx

no real gentle way.. ur best bet is to be as straight as u can.. when u'r gentle, they keep hoping for changes in the situation and future fix ups.. and although you want to protect them, you hurt them for longer and longer... i'd say best policy is to just do it and get outta there. give them a cut off for a good year or so.. and make sure they'r ok through friends and family... and only communicate on a friends level if you wanna... after then! once the shock and reality of the situation have been absorbed fully

There is no easy way. Wanting to let someone down gently means you probably feel guilty about doing it.
Just do it. Whichever way you do it. The result is the same.

Letting someone down gently is the kind thing to do, but some people make it so that you have to be brutal, it's their own fault.

be honest and sincere. don't let go of someone because someone new came along. if you have felt this long time before and afraid of not telling this then i guess you are being unfair to your partner. the more you prolong this the more you're hurting your partner so as yourself. be honest with what you feel and appreciate your partner for the time you have together.

Is there a gentle way to remove a band aid? Some things cannot be achieved with subtleties. I always need to know where I stand. One quick yank, and your done. It's just how it should be done in my opinion.

No matter how you say it they're gonna be hurt. All you can do is be as calm, direct and honest as possible. Don't give false hopes if there are none. Don't leave them wondering.
