You might want to ask representatives of the various belief systems or better yet, ask GOD yourself! As far as the Christian faith, I say that no, magic or sorcery are not compatible with Christian faith and one of your posters is incorrect in calling Jesus a trickster.

In the bible they (unbelievers) tried to use the name of Jesus to cast out demons and the demons said," Jesus I know, and Paul I know but ,who are you?" After that the demon attacked the men who tried to cast out the demon and left them nakedand beaten. Moral of the story is don't use Jesus unless you know HIM. HE is powerful and not to be taken lightly.

I think voodoo will commonly use all kinds of Christian references, I think it is probably done often.
