I watched a show on tv the other night called Myth Busters and the only difference in the good and the cheap is how many times they filter the vodka. Some people could tell or got lucky and some people couldn't tell. Myself, I don't drink it straight so when I mix it, I can't tell at all.

Ugh, absolutely, but some people can't. Once in college we got a bottle of such bad stuff that it actually froze when we put it in the freezer.
Check out the mythbusters episode where they try and make cheap vodka into good vodka by putting it through water filters (didn't work).

I hate vodka. However I love crown royal. And I can tell the difference between crown royal and canadian mist. If I'm served the latter, I'm like "No I said crown royal, not cheap imitation. Crown royal, it comes in a purple bag, dip shite." and I get what I ordered...

The cheap stuff is on the bottom shelf and the good stuff is at eye level so you will see it first and buy it. More profit for the liquor store owner
