I was thinking maybe a couple of cook books for her to use for our dinner. Or maybe a sports bra, shes put on a bit of weight since the wedding.

If you feel that you have to shut your wife up then maybe you should do her a favor and end the marriage. But if you are willing to make her happy I say you plan a nice night out at a very nice hotel. Set the room up with candles and rose petals everywhere...get a room with a hot tub or something close to it(a bath tub with water jets). Order some room service(good food like a steak and potato..have some wine) and serve her a nice candle lift dinner. Get her a nice body massage and get in the hot tub. Make love to her for the rest of the night. Not no wack sex neither give her the best sex she has ever got. That special night out is just your way of saying sorry. After that night you should spend more time with her. Cook dinner for her sometimes. Ask her how her day was. Cuddle with her and talk to her. Do things that she wants to do. She can do bad all by herself and she doesn't need you to live. She is with you because she loves you. When you love someone you should always been there for them. The point of being in a relationship is to better each other and help each other grow. Maybe you didn't know that. Maybe you should take time out to think about what a relationship is and what a marriage is all about. Good Luck you mean man

If she thinks that you have been neglecting her, SINCE getting married, it's not sounding too promising.

Things may also get worse, so best option is quit while your ahead, and maybe break the relationship - will be better for the both of you in the long run !

It's a hard question, as it's a sensitive situation that only the both of you know how the best way is to deal with the situation. But above are my views. ;)

I got an incredible laugh out of this question and the answers people are sending in. Thanks for a reason to giggle at work. Oh. And maybe you could just give her one of those "Princess Leia" outfits from the Jabba the Hutt scene in Star Wars. Chains and all.

So creative... I mean the question, not the gift, but sports bra? FANTASTIC! Cookbook was predictable. Sports bra was a stroke of genius.

Man, you're terrible. Cook books will be a gift for YOU, won't it? Sport bra will make her feel sexier that will result her getting more attention from others... Take her out for a dinner or for a weekend getaway... Wait... no! she will start taking those kind of things for granted. Get another girl with who needs low maintenance needs.... Now, that's a radical and effective.

Buy her a caravan.....
Then you can keep her in the drive, and not have to put up with looking at her.
Or you could take her to ann summers, buy her some sexy outfits, take her real clothes and leave her there.. that would teach her not to *****.

If shes put on some weight just tell her chicks dont mind honesty, and they hate lying. The best way for her to loose the weight is to stop eating like a piggy, and maybe walk to the shops to buy you gifts, for being such a truthfull husband..

Your wife probably feels she is right in her own mind instead of trying to shut her up why dont you do something with her go out and make a fuss of her that would be far better than buying her any book.
If her weight bothers you so much then why don't you both join a club to get fit, if your doing it together it will be more enjoyable.

If my husband spoke like that about me I would divorce him. A man should love his wife as he loves himself.

Sometimes, letting go seems like the easiest thing to do. But think about this: you've invested so much of your time and energy into another person; you've made a solemn promise; and you still know there's love, even if it's hiding underneath the surface. This website will show you how to save a marriage and avoid divorce, even if you're the only one trying https://tr.im/Dl94N

Your question reflects alotta insensitivity...there are some things that the money cant buy...try to be loving, caring and compassionate...this will not only make her shut up as u've said but life will be much easier for both of you.A wife wants to make a marrige last but sometimes enough is enough.Listen to her what she wants!!

Forget the cookbooks, forget the sports bra.....Give your wife a pamper day at the spa.....Manicure, Pedicure, massage, Eyebrow waxing, hair cut, etc. Then when she gets home pamper her again with candles in the bathroom for a romantic shower for 2!! Spice it up dude...spend a little $$$ and get a lot out of it!

A new iron and a toilet brush,
by the time shes done those jobs she keeps putting off, you could sneak off to the pub and back, and when she asks where the hell you've been you present her with an excercise video, and a gym membership, telling her she coculd lose soo much weight there..honeslty she'll love you for it, if you Do go with the cook books, get her a nice set of pans for her birthday
