I heard this and I have to say (regretfully) it seems like this is true. Does anyone else see this?

Me, personally I have never been on the mistreated or mistreating side of this theory. Only the friend told me this and I thought about and some of my friend's relationships and this seems true.

I have seen it. I think they stay hoping that the good will come back. Sadly it usually just gets worse. I like to see the people who have the courage to see whats going on, and get out of the relationship.

No. There is no way in which you can label a specific method to keeping a significant other. Yes, it is a mutual feeling, but everyone claims their own individuality; therefore, everyone has their own perception of having a relationship & the only way you can keep a relationship is if you're truly compatible with the other person's style and self-being. Love is not that easy to access unfortunately. However, in the event that you get in an argument with your significant other and end up resolving it peacefully, it can mean that you two are wise at avoiding a potentially bad ending. Don't think that treating your partner bad is the solution to a happy ending. It is self-explanatory.

well if you have lived with the same man for years, you are sharing a house and may be the woman do not work, so it can be a bit difficult for the woman to leave. also some men blackmail thei wife in saying things like: noone will want you/ i will find you/ if you remarry i wil kill you/ anyway all this is because of you. so understand it can be quite stressfull and degrading for the wife and also scary.

I actually find the opposite to be true. If someones first impression of you is that you're a jerk, and you do something nice it will be percieved as something really great even if its something small. However if you're percieved as a good/nice person and then make some mistake they'll never get over it.

We simply are in need of a fair share of good moments and good/bad arguments. It's the differences in the latter that make the good moments even better. But it is no guarantee that someone will stay with you forever. There always is better than good and then there is best. But you know that!

It all depends on the degree of bad, and the frequency of which it happens, and what your willing to put up with. If you think about all the bad things this persons done and the good things, and the good out-weighs the bad. then most people would stay.

If u treat me bad... i'm not staying.. What u heard are desparate measures for desperate people... Life is too short to have to deal with things so complicately.

kind of "the carrot and the stick" trick.. it is sad indeed but it seems that most people are actually attaching themselves to those that treat them likewise..
nevertheless if you are seeking a healthy relationship, this will not get you far

They will stay and never leave you when they really do love you.
Because true love means: stay together for the good times and the bad times! ;-)

kool cat that is the weridest philosophy ever. if it works, then the person itworks on must have REALLY low self esteem. dont let anybody treat you bad. just leave if they treat you bad.
