Actually, who's going to protect your children from YOU?

Well, as one other poster suggested, you can watch them as closely as possible when you're able to; however you could also broadcast (as you've done here) how you feel about such people.

You could get special shirts which would have appropriate messages like "Do not harm!" or "Gays, keep away!"

What I am disturbed by is the fact that you lump "gays" with "other perverted freaks". "Gays" as much as I understand are not the biggest worry for parents; pedophiles and child abductors/killers are those that parents need to watch out for and often they apparently are "heterosexual".

For example, Paul Bernardo and his wife/exwife were supposedly heterosexuals but were responsible for very deviant behaviour.

I think parents have to understand that although they must do their best that they cannot necessarily protect their children and even themselves from being touched or harmed by evil. September 11, 2001 brought this reality
home to us in a new way.

My parents did their best for me but couldn't protect me from a stranger's evil ways; I was hurt due in part to my naivete and trust.

thats a rather dangerous term to use isnt it,,,gays are not perverts,,and it is small minded of you to say so,,there are real perverts out there that your kids do need protecting from and if you think being gay is harmful to your kids you had better hide them away because gays and lesbians come from all countries, all states, all isles, and all villages,,,you had better be on your toes hadnt you.ignorant.

Learn to be more tolerant. Being gay does not make somebody a 'perverted freak'.

I suggest you don't have kids because gays aren't perverted and people who think they are usually have some freaky stuff in their head.

Its natural for parents to worry about their children.

I have three sons and think a lot about keeping them from harm and danger.

A few things may help you protect them from danger and harm :

* teach them 'stranger danger'
* teach them the norms for relationship and sexual contact
* teach them to be wise and to say 'no'
* as far as you have control, keep them from places of harm
* if they use the internet keep the pc in a open place and monitor all their communication
* finally, and it should have been the first one, pray for them always

I'm gay and I aint interested in your god damn kids. That's another stereotype. Did you know that studies have been done and proves that straight or bisexual men are more likely to molest a child than a gay man? It's true.

Wow. Let me know if you find the answer because maybe the same method will work to keep bigots and homophobes away from my kids.
