Yes, try putting a 3 year old in a 2 foot deep salt water pool and let him race a 3 year old whale shark to the other end. The boy would win hands down.

It is only a boy that will be dumb enough to want to outswim a shark. The best thing will be not to swim alone in a shark-infested water so when you encounter a shark, you dont try to outswim it but try to outswim the other person. You can swim to shore while the shark is busy. Be practical!

Ha, doubt it.

But there will be a boy or girl born unfortunate enough to be another of those rare shark attack statistics; so evolution could do them a favour by making them evolve to swim abit faster.

I'm sure there have been many sharks born that weren't able to swim faster than a human.

Highly unlikely. Especially if you include all breeds of shark.

The Mako shark can put on short bursts of speed of upto 35mph when attacking prey.

Sharks, whilst cold blooded, do have an internal mechanism which stores body internally. This heat provides them with warm muscles which enable them to accelerate extremely quickly. Oher fish do not have this 'heat' and therefore their muscles respond far slower.

not possible with existing species. there can be ones who swim real fast for a short while but will lose it to a shark on the distance. We have feet man, not fins / tail.

Yes. I have already been born. I can beat a shark - they're sore losers though. The real jerks are the giant squids.

no

....but in reaction to all the 'what about a girl' comments, just like all other sports, men are far superior and will always be able to swim faster than women so whats the point of making that comment?

Why a boy? Why not a girl? Quite sexist.

And no, in reply to your question.
