Well, being form the Los Angeles area, you are never desperately bored. The is always somethng to do. The weather is good, most roads are paved, and there is a lot of people diversity. Some people don't like being away from "their kind", but I think it is great that there is no cultural homogeneity where I live. You can have a car here, but only because you need one!! Public transport sucks!

I was born in downtown Los Angeles and raised in a suburb of it. My entire family has always lived in or around Los Angeles until recently when one sister moved to Colorado. There really is a lot of things to do all year long throughout the state with the diverse geographic areas like the furtile Napa Valley and real beauty of the north, to the beaches, the mountains, the vast deserts, and of course city-life. But I have a health problem that couldn't handle the smog and pollution in the city and the freeways stressed me out, and buying a home averages $540,500 so we moved to the high desert of Southern California where my health is better, way less cars, no smog, and I was able to buy a home. The cost of living is higher, but I'm used to it. I'm sure I'll still be here 10 years from now.

I think it's a no brainer question. You can get up early in the morning to go ski and go to the beach in the afternoon, follow by shopping and have a nice dinner at night in a weather-comfortable condition. Or even better, take a trip to Vegas, to Grand Canyon, to Sierra Nevada, to Napa, to Lake Tahoe, to Mammoth.....there are just so many fun places in CA. You can explore the nature in the mountain and finishing the day in bar hanging out. Also, you can find different cuisine in CA. You don't need to go to Epcot in Disney World to taste it. My point is, CA is a really nice place to live with a lot of diversity.

The great weather is the #1 seller of Southern California. Northern California is very different in weather and culture. SoCal would be awesome!

I wouldn't mind living there if real estate wasn't so high. I love Cali's weather, its hot women, and being able to show off my stuff on trendy beaches. But until the real estate bubble pops, I'm staying out here on the east coast, where cost of living is relatively cheaper.

I live in southern california...it is best to live in a smaller city--you don't have the hustle and bustle of LA, but the weather is gorgeous.

I don't want, I was born there. But its a nice place, bad air aside. People don't stay in Cali long. Try meeting a fourth generation Californian and you will find they are few and far in between.

Because it's the melting pot of different Cultures, especially here in San Francisco. Therefore you get to meet and interact with all sorts of ethnicity.

I was born in L.A. It's my home. My husband and I travel quite a bit. For me, the best part of the trip is arriving back home in L.A.
