Your original question was right to the point. It doesn’t matter.
But wow, a little knowledge can be more frightening than none. First of all, Mary Magdalene is a different person than Jesus’ mother. Some people here got them all mixed up.
Second, Mary Magdalene was not a prostitute. The confusion arose because Jesus was mentioned helping a sinful woman and then several verses later it was mentioned that demons had been cast out of Mary Magdalene. There is also a linguistic coincidence: Around that time, a reformed prostitute was sometimes called a “magald” or something like that. Because “magald” sounds a little like “magdalene”, people assumed that the name was a clue.
The Bible implies that Mary was at the last supper. It is possible that she was the same Mary who "wiped their feet". This was a task of honor, and maybe something a hostess of a party would do for the guests. This is not seen in all literature, but it is pretty common.
The Bible also mentions that when Jesus came back from the dead, the first person he appeared to and spoke to was Mary. When the Bible talks about the “one” Jesus loved “more than the others”, it is entirely possible they were talking about Mary. Most evidence in the Bible suggests it is not, since Mary is seen crying after the resurrection after the “one Jesus loved” had already left.
It is also entirely possible that Jesus was married to someone else, and that her name was concealed to protect her. The Bible mentions other women who accompany Jesus and the disciples, and even provide financial support.
What we often don't realize today is that back in the days of Jesus, rabbis were married. Most of his disciples were married. There was no "shame" to be married, and, in point of fact, it is more likely that Jesus would have been the subject of more derision for being unmarried. Jewish Mishnaic Law says "An unmarried man may not be a teacher." It was not until hundreds of years later that abstention became a virtue.
At the wedding in Cana, Jesus is there with his mom and all the apostles. This is the scene for his first, big miracle (water into wine). The servants are clearly doing everything that Jesus and his mom tell them. This has led to much speculation that the wedding in Cana was Jesus’ wedding.
But if you read every verse carefully, there is nothing to say he was married, and nothing to say he was not. This means that it is a subject you should read with your heart, and not your mind.
The Bible says that we should add nothing, and take nothing away from the verses. If the Bible is silent, then it usually means it isn’t important. Read what you will, and believe what you will. But your original question was; “does it matter?”
No, it does not.

The additional details you added are more confusing than helpful. Does it matter if Jesus and Mary were married? Well only to the extent that people use this possibility to deny that He died on the cross.
As a Christian we must understand this: Jesus came to be a perfect sacrifice for all of our sins (Christians and nonChristians); He completely subjected Himself to His Father's will and I believe He also loved us so much that He wanted to show us a different way.
Have you wondered why some people completely anstained from marriage to serve in the church? I believe Jesus wanted us to see that living as a married person or living as a single person are both acceptable choices to GOD.
Which do you think might please GOD all the more? Choosing to marry then possibly finding ourselves less and less devoted to GOD? Choosing to be single and wholly devoted to GOD?
Christians should not even bother with the question of whether Jesus married or not. Let nonChristians speak of it if they will.

If Jesus was married than I give Him even more glory for not sinning! I think it would be hard to be married and not sin!
The problem that people are concerned about is whether Jesus had children then there would be a "divine blood line" somewhere on earth. Its an interesting idea; but not likely.

As we understand the life of Jesus , he did not marry.
You asked what would it matter if he was married to Mary.
Potentially there were two Mary's, his mother and a woman who was considered to be a prostitute.
Jesus was sinless and a man of perfect character. He would not commit himself sinfully or immorally. So he would never have such a relationship with his mother.
The other 'Mary' was reputed to be an associate of Jesus and the disciples.
Jesus was dedicated to his life and mission to the exclusion of all else. His single focus was to share the Gospel or good news.

Though I doubt they were. There is nothing wrong with him having been married to her. But as far as the Davinci Code saying they had children that can be traced to current living humans in France is not true. Think about it, God wouldn't have allowed that because someone would be stupid enough to worship them and they could actually use it to their own advantage. So i don't believe they were married or had Kids.

I'm as interested in Jesus and Mary Magdeline as I am Brad & Angelina Jolie.
So to answer your question: It doesn't matter.
By the way - do you always believe everything you read????
How many years after the beginning of time was the bible actually written?????
If you tell a story to a friend and they tell it to another friend - the story will change somewhat!

If he didn't marry than he can remain "pure". I have yet to find a religion where even in marriage sex can be considered pure and untainted. You need the virginity clause to persecute those who choose to act as Adams and Eves and thus have sex.
