Because nobody cares anymore. And most people no longer believe what the bible totally says. They carry with them their own beliefs. Personally... it's probably best. It'll help reunite this country unstead of keeping it divided north and south like it has become. This country has been going backwards...it's written that this country is supposed to be equal and yet it's not. People are still fighting for rights that the government and the people of America, should have no problem saying yet to. Do I deserve teh right to get married someday? Yes. Does the next person? Yes. But if I can't get married, then neither should the next person and so on. It's time this country stood up as a whole and said let equailty and freedom shine for everybody. But until then, equality and freedom is shunned upon inside the very country that is supposed to be the land of the free. Also when the country was first born, all of our forefathers to this country actually were not Christian at all. They were protestants, some may have been something entirely different. But in all, they had a dream. A dream of a country that was FREE. 200 years later, there's still people inside the countries borders seeking freedom. Freedom and rights to make them equal as the rest of the country, and yet, they can't becuase of laws that are being passed and trying to be passed, to ban the rights and equality of a huge vast minority group that consists of millions. When will it end and when will freedom ring from coast to coast and unity and equality finally prevail?

No, it is not a christian nation. It never was. The majority of Americans are christian. The majority of Americans are white, does that make this a white nation?

I have studied much and I have to say I have my doubts as to whether it ever really was. The answer is that although there are many Christians living here it is not a Christian nation.

US is not a christian nation. There's no mention of God in the Constitution, it was written by "We the People..."

The first amendment plainly states that the USA is not biased towards one religion or another "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;"

Hence the separation of church and state, essential for true western democracies and for equality.

It depends on what you mean by "christian nation." The country was founded as a secular nation (not godless, but rather not based on any one belief system), but the majority of americans throughout history (and today) identify as Christian.

Basically we are still one but the devil worshipers and trying to break us away so when the antichrist does get here it will be so easy to follow him and he will be so great it will so very difficult not to follow him, but we must remember that jesus say it is not Me unless you see Me coming down on a cloud, but also said this antichrist person will be performing miracles and lead even the most holy into believing that it is really Jesus. When we love in a wolrd today as me, me and me and think only about what's for me is we are so ready for someone to lead us and the antichrist will be just the person some people are waiting for.

It is just the way we are. Blasphemy is a part of our vernacular. We are still Christian by a wide margin. But Americans tend to take a theoretical approach to following Christianity's rules.
