Britain's largest supermarked chain announced plans to start selling square watermelons, grown in wooden boxes, stating they would be easier to eat.
What would you do .....go for the traditional or pay extra for the 'SWM' ???

They ought to do the same thing for eggs - I can never find an egg cup when I want one!

Actually it was in Japan a long time ago. Think about how practical it is. A Square melon is stack-able, you can put it in the fridge, easier to cut. You can now place more melons where less could be. If the price was only a bit higher I would go for the square melon since I don't really eat watermelons too often. I can spare the luxury of a few dollars.

It was actually started by the Japanese. Just now making it to U.K., wonder when we will see them in the U.S.
