Hi my name is Melanie, I am 20 years old and I am currently around 147 pounds. Over the past 2 years I have lost 40 pounds +, the problem is that I have hit a huge plateau for the past 4 months, in fact I have gained weight back.
I have kicked up my diet and my activity/excercise and I am getting fatter. How is this possible?
I am 4'11 and I have a messed up right knee, although I am very athletic I can not jog or run for excercise, because it strains my knee. I can however do pilates, play baseball, tennis, etc.
I am an extremeley picky eatter, but I am willing to do anything to lose the weight.
I need a new plan of attack to get into shape. Any ideas??? Please help.

i don't know what your diet was before, but you should eat at least 6 times a day. each meal should consist of 1 portion of protein, 1 portion of carbohydrates, and 2 oout of the 6 meals should have 1 portion of vegetables. a portion is the size of your fist. stick with chicken and any red meat with loin in the name, these meats are the most lean. by eating like this you'll naturally increase your metabolism. now, exercise. cardio=all you have to do is reach your target heart rate, you can do this by walking fast on a treadmill. finally just circuit train, nothing over the top. good luck hope this helps.

read "The Idiot's Guide to Becomming Anorexic" J/K I guess you just gotta keep working out and laying off the carbs. Someone told me that you can either go on a diet by carb counting, or calorie counting. I don't know which is best. I know celery is the best diet food, because of all the chewing you do. You burn a lot of calories eating it.
I was watching Conan the other night, and Jared Leto was on the show, with his band (forgot the name, I think "Ten Seconds to Mars") and he was talking about a movie he was making, where he had to be like a total fat pig. THEN when he was done with the filming of his scenes of the movie, he said he drank a ton of lemon water, where he took off the pounds that he had while making the movie. I've heard lemon water from another person, too. Perhaps it is a good weight loss drink.
Anyway, good luck!

Hi
This simple plan worked for me so here goes,
If you are serious about losing weight, the calories in the food you eat should be less than the energy you use. You will have to increase your metabolic rate now, and plan your diet carefully.
Formulate your own weight loss plan and you will lose weight faster. More details available at http://tinyurl.com/m7ckx
Good luck

You might be gaining weight because you're too athletic. You could be building up muscle and bulk.
