I think you could have generalised your question by asking whether people would like to live in societies guided strictly by their religious books be it the Torah, Bible, Quran ...et al as a lot of what is said in those books is common (homosexuality/adultery punishable, abortion prohibited, people out of the religion not having full rights etc.)
Well the effect on people living in such societies are there for all of us to see. Christianity was going through such a phase a couple of 100 years ago, Judaism went through it earlier & Islam is now travelling through the same path. Pick up any country where Islamic laws are applied and you will see the mess it has created.
As for me, I would definitely not like to live in a country where I might enjoy fuller or lesser rights and whatever I do in my bedroom becomes the business of the state and where women do not have control over their bodies and where the state severely restricts individual freedom.

1. Yes. People would stop having excuses for not going to church, wouldn't have to work on Sundays, and would have more quiet time with their families.

2. Jesus, if you remember, refused to let the people throw stones at the adulteress. I think that story was specifically put in the bible to show the difference between the Old Testament, where people had to do exactly what God told them or else, and the New Testament where Jesus died for us and thus granted forgiveness of sin to a higher degree than we could achieve reach ourselves. If Christian doctrine was the ruling law of the country, homosexuality and adultery would only be frowned upon on earth and dealt with by God in the next life.

3. I would love to live in that world. A baby is a baby. Period.

4. Jesus was always questioned by "religious people" because he was so open with people of different races and faiths. This would not be part of the Christian law either, because we all have the free choice to follow or not to follow God. People of different faiths may have been killed in the Old Testament, but, again, that was before Jesus could die for them. The wages of sin is death.

No to all but number 3. Do not misunderstand me, I would not imprison women who abort, they would punish themselves enough in the future. My mother is dealing with this 30 years after the fact. But I hold all life in the same high esteem. ALL LIFE. Who are we to pick and choose, does not that baby have the same potential as any of us?The other laws, no. I do not neccesarily belive in homosexuality nor do I believe in adultery but this I leave to God and ones conviction of faith and spirituality.

#1: it used to be this way when i was young , and i'm not that old, there wasn't even a party store open, you were lucky to find a gas station open. This was a time when families spent Sunday mornings in church and had a real day of rest. so yes i agree with 1. #2 Homemosexuality is a sin and so is adultry but i believe that your maker will judge you for those sins at the day of attonement. #3 this is absolutly 100% correct, you want a choice in what you do with your body that is fine, here is your choice..spread your legs OR don't spread your legs. thats your choice, killing a human being is not a choice it is a crime. #4 this is just a cinical ridiculus question,Belief is a choice God gave us all and he wants you to coose him by FAITH not coersion.

I think that might be a partial description of Heaven, however, here on Earth as men, and before death, this does sound rather harsh. Perhaps the answer comes only after death, but I'll bet the question then seems trivial for reasons we can't see now. Let's wait for Best Answer until we are there.

Except for closing on the sabbath, that could be a society ruled by Islamic law, so in that case yes. But you're describing a society ruled by Jewish law, so I would say no because i don't want to be considered a partial citizen...other concepts are fine.

It's funny but many xtians think that America is a godless and sinful nation. I feel that it's too christanized and want out. Odd huh?

As for the first three, they are fine, Torah-based, and I would love to live in a society that abides by God's holy Torah.

As for number four - that is not what Torah teaches. While God doesn't demand that everyone enter into His covenant, He does expect all humanity to live according to His moral commanments. That means there are no second-calss citizens as many would think - as an example, there would be those who choose to take on Nazarite vows and those who don't. With all people living under the same moral commandments, there wouldn't be second-class citizens because there would be no arrogance or ego-inflating.

Hell no. That's all the nastiness and humbug of all the world's religions rolled up into one big banana republic with Matisyahu as President, the Pope as Prime Minister and Hitler as the Minister of the Interior.
