The material world and every material form is an illusion in the sense that each form is "temporary", the material world is in a state of constant flux and perpetual motion, the atomic particles that constitute the gross manifestation are continually bonding together, separating, then re-bonding, every seven years all the molecules, atomic and sub-atomic particles in the material body
re-generate, so the body you are in today is completely different from the body you had seven years ago. So this material form is temporary and therefore illusory.
One analogy is we view a tree casting a reflection on the river, if we look at the reflection, we know that it is an illusory form, but it indicates a real form that is casting the reflection, similarly this material form is illusory, a perverted reflection of the real Spiritual form, that is within the material body, the spiritual form is eternal, full of bliss and knowledge and is not slain when the body is slain.

You are as real in the atoms that make you up. However, if you know quantum mechanics, you know that ATOMS are mostly just empty space, and this space is created by empty probability clouds. These probability clouds aren't thought of as "clouds" of electrons, because electrons do not ACTUALLY orbit the nucleus. Also, the nucleus of the atom, which is made up of neutrons and protons...is made up of QUARKS. These are thought to essentially have no volume, even though they make up one third of each proton or neutron. So what does that mean? At a fundamental level, everything breaks down into something that has a mass but no volume. But does that make it an illusion or reality.
Perhaps it is both. The volume is the illusion of the reality of mass.
Yes, that was long and scientific, but it was better than the other answers on here!

I think I'm a real person, but it is 3:32 in the morning and I have to be at work at 8:30, so I must be a real, crazy person to be up answering any more questions. Don't agree with a lot of your theological principles, but you're usually good for a laugh. I'm getting some sleep.

Depends on your point of view... your perspective. I am sure I am real to most persons, but to some I may be an illusion, a figment of their imagination!

I exist only on your monitor. Therefore, I'm a lot like an illusion to you.

Buddhism and Hinduism state that Life is an Illusion.
Life is painful as human in Buddhism
Life is a breath by Maha Vishun in Hinduism.
However, We are lovingly knitted by the Lord, state the Bible.
He love us. and we are his children.
In his image we are created.
So, Life is real. Life is Good, though sometime it suck.
It have to, otherwise, we be flying in outer space.
So, I am as real as you are. Stop doubting and believe in the Lord

Since you can't prove I am or am not then you can believe whatever you want to believe and I really won't care. But if I am real then you can't have faith in me but if I am an illusion you can.Funny, huh?
