There are references to dinosaurs by discription of the animals in the bible. It wasn't until 1822 Mary Ann Mantell found fossils and her husband Dr. Gibon Mantell named the fossil "Iguanodon", believed it was a large "Iguana" all previous fossils were classified as reptile. However, since that time most fossils have been named by people who discover them. With this in mind, although common animals to us today were mentioned, the uncommon ones were described.

"Tanniyn" is a general term which was normally translated into "Dragon", “Serpent,” “Sea Monster,” “Dinosaur,” “Great Creature,” and “Reptile”.

Behemoth (brachiosaurus) is described more as a specific type of animal in Job 40:15 thru 40:24. Translated for you. It eats grass like an ox, strength in his loins and force in the navel of it's belly, moves his tail like a cedar with its sinews (muscles) of his stones (unit measurements equal to 4 Earth pounds each) wrapped together (a long continued length of muscle), his bones are strong as brass and bones like bars of iron, "surly the mountains bring him food where all the beasts of the field play" (it is referred to as a beast due to size and amount of food it would take to feed it), "He drinks from the river, but believed large enough to drink up the Jorden River in his mouth".

Leviathan (kronosaurus) is described more as a specific type of animal in Job chapter 41, Psalm 104:25,26 and Isaiah 27:1. It can be drawn out with a hook, or roped by it's tongue (when tongue extended out), he has tight fitting scales, they stay together in a group, blows fire out of his mouth, smoke comes out of his noise, has a strong neck, the flakes of his skin when put together can not be seperated, sword, spear, dart can not pierce it's skin, when it gets up even the braves person is afaid they might be killed, using iron on it is like straw, and brass is like rotten wood, he matches the sea like ointment.

The bible is far from an anthropological book. It is a religious book. But for your satisfaction, there are verses in the Bible which tell about dragons, which are considered as dinosaurs by scientists.

Genesis 6:4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.

The Nephilim. The root word is "nephesh" - not "nephel" as many are led to believe. The Nephilim were a race of giants in those early days, giants as in dinosaurs, not men.

In the book of Job we read of the Behemoth and the Leviathan, remnants of these great creatures. Outside of this reference, the Nephilim, there is no way to biblically explain fossils and dinosaurs.

read Job 40, verses 15 - 24. This could not be describing anything BUT a dinosaur.

Look in Job 40:15-18

The behemoth with a tail like a cedar. Horses and hippos and whatever else people have said this is....do not have tails the size of cedar trees.

Job 40:17 says, He carries a tail like a cedar. Ever see a hippo with a tail nearly as big as his body...or a horse?

There really isn't any. There are references to behemoth's and leviathans but that doesn't mean those were dinosaurs. In fact, I think that was talking about demons or monsters of evil origin from a superstitious view or an animal that may have died out since then but still proves nothing.

"I consider myself 40 percent Catholic and 60 percent Baptist. but I'm in favor of every religion, with the possible exception of snake-chunking. Anybody that so presumes on how he stands with Providence that he will let a snake bite him, I say he deserves what he's got coming to him." (Earl Long)
