Did or does your faith or spirituality if you are not of a faith play a part in your lifes work?
I am a memeber of the healthcare field, in nursing, and yes my Catholicism plays a large part in that. I serve my God, my Savior and mankind in caring for the Elderly, the sick, and the brain damaged. I try to take the two commandments that Christ left us to heart. "Love the Lord they God, and Love thy neighbor."
Peace Be With You,
Debra

My field is governmental, and I have no faith. The only thing this plays a part in is that I didn't become a priest... lol

I'm agnostic and I just got a job as peer mentor at my college. I was sent a letter telling me about the program and asked if I would apply, so I did. My beliefs have nothing to do with the mentoring, I'm more there to help them adjust to college life. I've made some mistakes along the way (I'm going to need a loan or something for a year, don't know how I'll accomplish that) and it would be nice to prevent someone from making that mistake too. But I picked it because it was available and I need the money, not because I'm agnostic.

I am a spritualist in many aspects I study the art of magic and energy manipulation so that one day I may heal others without filling them up with medication. I am currently a stay at home spouse but if I were to work then yes it would play a big role in my work because i believe in the fact that everyone can heal they onyl have to hvae faith and knowledge. I respect your faith Debra and commend your good deeds but I choose to work with the natural elements that surround the body such as energy.

I think that's great what your doing with your life and career, unfortunately I'm unemployed right now, not because of what I believe in, but because of poor training and fates sick irony, but I don't really have a religious label, right now I just call myself spiritual. If I could choose a career I think I would like to teach and in a way my love for learning comes from my belief in Gnosticism, Mysticism, Taoism and various other philosophies and my faith in something more, so yes I think it would if I listened more, lol. God bless.

I am a christian and do pray for people in my work, if it is requested. I am a respiratory therapist, chaplain, and artist. As you know working with people on the death beds does give us Christian's an opportunity to get people before they may die but I have seen people refuse to believe until they took their last breath. Don't think that you can always be saved at the last minute, because your heart may be too hardened by then and it may be too late for you. Seek to know HIM today while there is yet time. I have seen many great things God has done and know HIS power, through CHRIST JESUS. HE is waiting for You!

I can't say my spirituality plays a part in my work...though it does in my life and to a degree in my interaction with friends...I believe people are in each other's lives for a reason...I have felt the hand of God at my back on occasion, yes...
I also commend you for a sincere and honest question and explanation of your philosophy...seems too few here seem to have that full a grasp, or at least can't enunciate it clearly

My faith is in the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob.
I live according to His holy word of Torah. I do not subscribe to any man-made religions (ie Judaism, Christianity, Islam, etc).
I am a computer operator by trade, and though my faith and work do not cross lines, I work according to the ethics Torah has taught me.

Christian- I do data entry for a Christian bookstore by day and write and record songs by night...hopefully someday as my only job.
I apply the Christian principles of "Love your neighbor" to the customers and employees in my work environment, and the principle of "serve your masters" to the effort I put into my job, trying to make sure I am always productive and helpful to our company.
If I succeed in the songwriting world, I would hope to write songs that make people see the goodness of God, the possibilities in themselves, and hope for the future.
