It is similar to a boil but comes out on the upper or lower lid of the eye. I once had 3 at the same time. You have to let it run its course and it is something you grow out of. A cool teabag placed over the eye provides some relief. keep it clean.

it is a bacterial infection where the gland at the eye is infected, caused by blockage of the hair follicles.
this can happen from bacteria(usually from the nose) either being passed by touching the nose and then the eye, or from conjunctivitis, eye infections or poor health.
there are a few remedies such as grated potato, antibiotics etc. read up on them at www.thebeautytips.com . it is also suggested to use a warm compress for 10-15 minutes ,3-4 times a day.
otherwise look on the net with the spelling of eye stye.

A sty in the eye is an infection. It can be very painful and bothersome in addition to very noticeable and distracting to others.
There are some topical ointments that can help. Your pharmacist may be able to recommend one. It that does not solve the problem see your Doctor soon.

Visit your GP. You may receive an anti biotic and soothing gel. Remember to eat loads of fruit and veggies because they can prevent stys forming.

It's an infected hair follicle I think and they're often brought on by stress and lack of sleep. I find the only way to get rid of them is to catch up on the sleep you've missed

The cheapest and best way is to take it easy for a few days.
(no late nights, or too much staring at computer or TV screens).

Use a wet tea bag. This usually makes them go away. I am not sure what causes them.
