Tilt your head back and pinch your nose.

Tell anybody that says "your blood will choke you" that they're an idiot. 100% untrue. Unless you're bleeding PROFUSELY there is no possibility of that happening. The flip side of that is if you are bleeding profusely you should probably tilt your head back anyway because your nosebleed is so bad that you're in more danger if you let it bleed and try to stop it with an ice cube or something ridiculous like that.

Are you bruising? Do the nose bleeds last extended amounts of time? Spontanous?

See a doctor and get a blood test, could be low platelets.

Other wise pinch the nose and lean forward. Dont swallow lots of blood down the back of your throat.

take some cotton , put some olive oil or corn oil on , then insert the cotton piece on your nose so that it stops the bleeding , by the way , such bleeding is considered sometimes as a sign of hypertension , watch your blood pressure if you can

Try pinching the bridge of your nose hard and lean forward, not backwards (you don't want blood draining down the back of your throat) and it should stop. You may have high blood pressure or hemophilia or anemia or something so go see your doctor tomorrow!

If your getting frequint nose bleeds I suggest you start an iron regiment in your diet and suppliments. Sounds to me like your a bit anemic.

Just shove a tampon up your nose to stop the bleeding.

If its a frequent thing.. consult your doc... your blood could be too thin. do you take alot of head ach medication is also a question.. that tends to thin out the blood. otherwise.. stop picking you nose.
