Sugar has no redeeming health benefits period. Honey, brown sugar, cane sugar all are the same and do nothing for you but reek havoc with your body especially your pancreas. They are NOT healthy.

What is the most common addiction in our society today? Well you may be surprised to learn that it is sugar. The average American consumes 32 teaspoons of sugar a day. Not only is it addictive, but this very common everyday product that is falsely believed to be harmless is responsible for many health problems we find in our society. What is very sad and devastating is that sugar is an acceptable addiction. It's not uncommon for people to know they have a sugar addiction and to make a joke of it. It's not seen as a serious matter, when in reality it is very serious indeed.

Sugar is not harmful to health.

Demerara sugar is a less refined version of white sugar and is to all intents and purposes nutritionally the same.

Some other brown sugars are confusingly MORE refined versions of white sugar, but again are nutritionally basically identical.

All sugar is almost pure sucrose. Sucrose is an extremely efficient food, which is why you have taste receptors for it. It is not in itself harmful to health (provided you clean your teeth afterwards), but because it is such an efficient food it is very easy to overeat, which is of course unhealthy.

Brown sugar is better for you than white sugar, it is exactly the same but hasnt been chemically treated/ refined to make it white. The difference is purely in the colour.

If you are diabetic, both have the same sugar content and have the same effect in the body.

My understanding is that it is no better. By association with brown bread being better than white, there is a perception that it should be, but it isn't.

brown sugar contains more fat in it, so i believe it is worse for your health than normal sugar.

It's unrefined, which means it still has its natural 'goodness' but it's still sugar!
