Death toll of Americans - too many.

Death toll of "Insurgents" (terrorists) - not enough.

Number of people who now have a chance to determine their form of government (a chance they did not have five years ago) - 50 million.

The death toll in Iraq is far less than it was during Carter. Note that the US was not engage in any warfare whatsoever under Carter.

In other words, the death toll is negligible. Every soldier's sacrifice is important. However, the number of people being killed is so low as to not be different, AT ALL, then it is, just being stationed state side and doing nothing.

There are 2 ways our government counts The deaths of our war hero's. If you are shot or blown up and pronounced dead at the scene, then you are counted as a causality.
If you are shot or blown up but still alive when they pick you up and carry you off , but die on the way to the hospital, or Germany, or if you die a few days later, you my friend are not counted at all! My educated guess at how many dead U.S. soldiers from this war in Iraq & Afghanistan 15,000! It's on the Internet, read it and weep.

Excuse me but the death toll is counter by combat related deaths no matter where you die! Be it Iraq, Germany, Walter Reed in D.C>!

The to date death toll from Iraq is about 2600, in the last 3+ years. Which pails considerably to the 17,000 yearly that die due to drunk drivers!

The deaths in Iraq are a joke compared to any other war. Plus we all should focus on Israel and Hesbollah...

the death toll is small, why?

because the US and UK turn the sunnis and shittes against each other so they forget who their real enemy is.
