Depends. What if he's like 20? You're not the only one who can lie about your age. It could be very dangerous.

Plus, there's a big difference between 15 and 17, let alone if he's older. If you keep it safe and just meet somewhere w/o going in his car, etc, it might be ok, but I'd be very very careful, even if you're sure he's not a predator.

You can always go on a 2nd date if you liked the first date.

It is not adviced to go on blind dates specially when its fixed on the internet. You never know who might show up as the innocent 17 year old. So dont go.
Age is not a concern as long as:
Its Ok for the age different to be a max of 2 years.
2 years is OK

Not gonna lie, my cousin did the exact same thing, she met a guy online, and after talking with him she was convinced that he was ok (i.e. not a sex predator). She brought a friend along too to be "safe". The truth is she never was safe, my cousin was taken that night, and we haven't seen her since, so seriously, watch what you're doing, people on the internet can be very decieving, they will say anything to make you believe them and to get you to meet them, for instance, who suggested that you guys meet? was it him, did you tell him you were bringing a friend and he got mad? think about what you're doing, and don't do it, trust me you don't want to go and get kidnapped because you were "trying to date an older guy"

I would go on the date, but I would fess up to him first. You shouldn't play anyone like that. Tell him the truth, and see if he still wants to go on the date with you. If he doesn't then the relationship never would have worked out to begin with. I know this is only to test the waters...to see what its like to date an older guy... but you should start off right by telling the truth. Who knows... you might end up liking this guy and if you dont tell the truth it might come back to bite you in the *** later on.

Good Luck.

HELL NO! Haven't you watched any of those Dateline shows where those guys pretend to be a teenager but are really someone completely different? Let's put it this way: if you are lying to your parents to get out of the house for the date, then you know something is wrong here. Don't do it. Plus, the age difference isn't big enough for him to be considered an "older man".

yer gonna what? ahem. blind dates are set up by friends, not by you, so this isn't a blind date. and u are taking a friend to meet someone she doesn't know? bad news bad new/whatcha gonna do? Say these gents are 17 and 18. The 18 year old could go to jail if he does anything stoopid. get a grip and don't go there.

not a good idea!!!!!!!!!
know why?
it's cool that you want to be safe and bring a friend along on your "date", but don't you think you're putting you and your friend at risk to complete strangers. if you're lying to him and he's believing every word you are saying, then it still applies to him. he could be saying he's 17 when he could be a 43-year-old waiting for a girl like you to eat up his words.

the internet is never 100% safe.

i wouldn't take the risk.
if you could find a "17-year old" who is interested in you, i'm sure you can find another boy (in your area) who would be interested in you -- who won't care what your age is.

but, if you do decide to go on the date (moron.....)
you should be ULTRA SUPER CAREFUL.
i wouldn't recommend it, but what ever floats your boat.

i really don't want to hear this story on CNN.....

No way. As great as he "may" seem, it will end badly and can put you in a situation that will end up with you hurt or at the least, embaressed. He could become angry at the lie or be indifferant to you and try to take advantage of it. Caution, Caution, Caution!!!!
