The best product manufacturer in the world can only achieve 6 sigma manufacturing capability which is equivalent to 99.99997% or an equivalent of 3.4 defects per million.

If you do the math, that's the best any product can do.

For me, Products that are 99% guarantee just means that the seller has doubts about his/her own product. I sometimes see that as a bad sign. Plus maybe the product is not really guaranteed to work properly like in the case of it being defective or manufactured incorrectly.

Because NOTHING is 100% and if they say 100% instead of 99% if something fails they can be sued. Just like birth control. When it says 99% that means IT DOES FAIL sometimes.

Because 100% sucess rate is very very uncommon~ I don't think it actually happens~ Things break - and fail - and get it wrong~ So saying 99% is just letting people know that some times things don't work~ :)
