only if the car was origionally set up for factory air bags, there are no after market air bag manufacturers or installers that i'm aware of.

No, aftermarket installation of airbags is not possible. Airbag systems are engineered into the car during the design phase.

Even if you could, you'd butcher that car in the process. First off, you're dealing with an open side, open top vehicle making side impact bags impossible without destroying the car.

If you're "crazy" about safety, learn how to drive the thing properly and avoid accidents in the first place. Defensive driving and a high level of situational awareness can reduce the likelihood of being in an accident to nearly zero.

If you prefer built-in secondary safety features, buy a Kia Sedona or a Volvo and leave the fun toys to those who understand them.

if youre worried about safety, drive a volvo, not a caterham. an airbag wont save you in a crash if youre driving a super 7 based vehicle. The best safety would be to wear a good helmet, and get a nice set of 5 points in the thing. Airbags wouldnt help at all, really.

and unless youre a true purist (which i dont think you are based on your unsurity of this car), you shouldnt look at a super 7. theyre far faster and more dangerous than what a normal person can handle.

not to mention you would be adding lotsa weight to the car, if it were even possible (which i doubt it would be without serious, expensive modification).

I doubt it to much involved its cheaper to by a car with them money is the only draw back if you have enough anything can be fabricated but dud this is a great ordeal then they would be a mandatory D.O.T. safety inspection to see if they work, and you would half to crash you car with a dummy on a test course) to get it passed to be certified and then you start over , The D.O.T. Department of Transportation would never OK it it would be unsafe and deemed unsafe to anyone in the vehicle you need a factory certified installation and that's not going to happen , if you sold the car just say and someone died because you did it your self just think about that ?

Airbags set up in elementary terms whilst they could be had to steer clear of extreme injury. Frontal driver and passenger airbags are designed to inflate in average to extreme frontal crashes comparable to hitting a sturdy barrier at 10-12 mph. some manufacturers use diverse inflation thresholds finding on whether everybody is utilising their protection belts. Thresholds of 10-12 mph oftentimes are used for unbelted occupants, yet thresholds are larger — approximately sixteen mph — for belted occupants as a results of fact the belts on my own are probable to grant sufficient protection as much as those average speeds. preliminary analyses of the efficacy of facet airbags propose they have decreased deaths between passenger motor vehicle drivers in touch in driver-facet collisions by utilising approximately 40 5 p.c. whilst the facet airbag secure head protection and by utilising 11 p.c. whilst the facet airbag replaced into designed to guard in elementary terms the torso. NHTSA estimates that greater desirable than 18,000 everybody is alive immediately as a results of fact of frontal airbags. between belted occupants in frontal crashes, deaths in frontal airbag-equipped autos are 26 p.c. decrease between drivers and 14 p.c. decrease between passengers in comparison with autos without frontal airbags. Deaths between unbelted occupants in frontal crashes are decreased by utilising 32 p.c. for drivers and 23 p.c. for passengers. NHTSA estimates that the aggregate of an airbag plus lap/shoulder belt reduces the possibility of extreme head injury by utilising 80 5 p.c. in comparison with a 60 p.c. relief for belts on my own.
