You're at a restaurant with a party of 6 and your waitress ends up mixing up your plates. Nothing too serious, she got the right food, just gave it to the wrong person.

Do you get annoyed? How should she win you back over?

Do things change if you're in a party of two?

I've had a few tables get really upset with me when I accidently gave them another person's order.

It is brutal out there. Too bad I don't have some of you guys as customers!

No, I would not get upset. I may crack a joke to her to help her feel at ease. But I wouldn't be a jerk. I used to waitress and it can be stressful, especially when dealing with ungrateful people who want everything "Now". Having people crack a joke with me always made me feel better. You can tell when a waitress has had a stressful time at work with rotten customers, or is new. I just couldn't do that. We always let her know that it's all good and not to worry because we weren't complainers. She is human just like anyone else...no one is perfect.

As hard as waitresses work these days for their low pay I would not say anything. I would wait for her to walk away then I would ask who had this.I went to a restaurant once for a carry out dinner, I gave the cashier the money, she laid it on the counter, I went to the bathroom. When I got back the money was gone so I assumed she took it. Well it turns out she didn't another customer did. The manager came up front and just started being an azz to the worker for leaving the money on the counter, so I just paid for the meal again. And I left the cashier a tip also.

As long as the food's on the table I couldn't care less. Waitresses are human beings and human beings get things mixed up sometimes. It wouldn't make a difference for me if it were a party of two.

First of all, I wouldn't be annoyed over that kind of error. I'd simply joke and say something like "I think I'd prefer xxx, which is what I ordered", and smile. My answer is the same for a party of two or six...no need to be annoyed for something like that. She would still get the normal tip from me, which is at least 15%. I think people in the restaurant business work very hard.

Meh, I'd say nothing about it and simply switch plates with the person who got my order. It's just not a big deal. Even cracking a joke, with the intent of not taking the pressure off of the server can make him/her feel uncomfortable.

As long as my server is attentive to me and my party, it doesn't matter.

That's just an honest mistake. I'd wonder if she had a problem concentrating if there was only two of us.
My buddy and I went to a restaurant and we both ordered sandwiches. It was an Olgas and they put Olga sauce on it..which I love. They didn't put very much on mine so I asked the waitress if I could have more sauce..she looked at me and said "there's sauce on your sandwich." And she didn't bring me anymore. Yet my buddy had two extra side servings of the sauce-on his plate-so they were obviously for him. Go figure. She didn't get a tip from me btw.

honestly it is no big deal, as long as the food is tasty and hot, switched food is a minor inconvenience and all the waitress would have to do is switch the plates again, or I can do it myself, no big deal. It is hard to be a waitperson

I would just inform her where my plate belongs. It's not a big deal and not worth stopping business with the place.
Just think how many orders she/he is trying to place and just happens to miss on occasion? Let it go.
Tip her/him well if the remainder of the service is good.

People get upset over this? It happens all the time. Maybe when delivering the food you could say something like, "Okay, I just want to get this right. Did you have the chicken dijon?"
