They are hated for conformity basically? And for being anal retentive. And really at the end of the day not really being a good advertisement for a God who should be almighty. (Ok - I don't believe this about ALL christains - unfortunately it's the awful ones who get noticed).

BUT....

Isn't the whole I-hate-Christians-because-they're-Christians trip just as bad as the I'm-superior-coz--I'm-a-christian trip?

Sorry - I'm ENTIRELY generalizing. I didn't mean to offend anybody - it just seems like a topic that keeps coming up on answers and I was just trying to ask about it.

It seems like it's trendy to go Christian bashing with some serious venom.

I am a Christian. I don't always like to call myself that because the stigma attached to that these days is just so negative.

Hopewriter - i AM a good christian. I'm just not a weedy one who offers religion to people who aren't asking for it. I have a relationship with god that I truly could not live without and have experienced miracles on countless occasions (and not cheesy miracles like "look a tree growing")

I am NOT judging any religion by it's people - I'm saying that christianity and god get's judged by the obnoxious behavior of chritians who have managed to get themselves in the limelight who end up giving the rest of us a bad name.

and what I'm saying on top of that is that those people are in turn judged by the rest of the world (again those who get seen - not everyone) with such hate and contempt that it ends up that the christians and those judging the christians are in fact equally annoying/wrong/whatever....

Yes. Whatever belief system you hang your hat on, hating others for not conforming shouldn't be any part of it.

And LOL! -- it's the awful anythings that always get noticed. Wouldn't it be something if all the blacks walked and talked and thought like Jesse Jackson and all the whites like George Bush. Arghhh!

Let's all just enjoy our differences.

Yes, there is weakness in character on both sides. What faith do you have, I wonder? Have you ever met a person who honestly tried to be a good Christian, and honestly cared about you?

Just because some Christians make mistakes and fall short of what they should be, it does not in any way reflect the God behind them. It just shows that they are imperfect and human, and that they do not yet fully understand what God wants them to be.

I wonder if you knew a really good Christian...would it help you? Would you see the love of God? If so, I hope it happens to you. You might even consider looking for one. I would love for you to feel the sense of purpose and peace that my God gives to me.

I can't understand why I've encountered this frame of mind so much on Answers. How can you judge an entire religion on a handful of people you've had experiences with? Try reading the Bible and making up your own mind. Stand on your own feet. You wouldn't judge a sport by it's players would you? If people did that, I'm sure sports wouldn't be near as popular as they are now........On a side note, I can't understand why sports are so freakishly popular.

firstly i do no longer think of that atheists and agnostics hate christians some do, some do no longer, and a few our in the middle It purely relies upon on the guy. notwithstanding, now i'll argue with you the international teaches you that to love all and sundry which skill to only tolerate all and sundry's innovations and ideology What has a tendency to happen to genuine Christians is which you assert something like God created the earth, no longer evolution properly... no person desires to hearken to that,so rather what they are announcing is as long as you believe me, or do no longer share an opposing view we are able to get alongside you notice Christians can't purely returned off and enable all and sundry bypass to hell, then we isn't relaxing the super value of bypass and make disciples of each and every of the international locations. additionally, in case you relatively love human beings you will share with them the certainty that there is a heaven and hell and Jesus is the thank you to life. in case you think approximately that concept you will comprehend why we purely isn't silent. we desire those we like to bypass to heaven with us, which skill they might desire to renowned Jesus. the international would have peace at some point... the antichrist will usher it in...he will attempt to kill off the Christians Now, as an occasion will you tolerate the concept i think of that all and sundry does not have confidence in God is a fool? all and sundry has bias, it is barely rather a query of which bias is the best to be biased with.

I don't think many would under oath say they hate christians - I think what people hate is the perception that they think they are the only ones who are right and they feel a need to sweep the globe and convert. That kind of "My way or the highway" attitude just doesn't win friends.

Peace!

Your statement seems to be generalising.
As an atheist, myself, I don't hate anyone. I may not like some people, but thats not because of their beliefs or values, it will be based on their personality and the way they treat others.
Naive stereotypical statements such as yours can be quite dangerous, so (in future) I would recommend you that don't generalise and stereotype groups, who don't need your representation.

What irritates me about some Christians is that they think they should let God lead them through life. And if you let them (God) lead you through life, them afterwards you'll something for your obedience.

What's the point of being alive if you're going to let someone else lead you though life? If you look at the history of religion and start to analyze it, you'll find that it doesn't make much sense.

Sorry but this is for "seeing clearly". I just wanna know how is it that you say, and I quote "I think you have to know someone to actually hate that person." and at the same time u have so much hatred against Muslims/Arabs in all ur other answers? And I can bet my life on it that you have not had the privilege of getting to know one Arab Muslim. I'm just curious, are u racist?

Atheist don't hate cristians, remember they don't believe in any form of religion. So why hate something that is not opposed to what you believe in. There is a misconception that atheists are satanists, which is not true. Atheists don't hate cristians, they just don't care about religion, and that's the bottomline.

Create world peace - Kill the christian religion

I don't consider myself superior to them, I just see their religion for what it is...the worship of a War God, Baal-Zebub.

Funnily enough, this was discovered by RESEARCHING the bible, not simply scanning it with my eyes and calling it reading.
