If God had made it more clearer, we would not have so many religion and cults that would have their own version and interpretation, be it right or wrong.

It is deliberately cryptic so that the reader must fill in the gaps, making it more timely and personal for each reading. That is how a book can last for 2000 years, right?

It is more likely that we have so many religions because this is a big planet and civilizations have evolved in pockets all over it. Not everyone had the same book to start because there was no way to get around to share it.

Peace!

Actually it's not. The reason it seems cryptic is due to so many people out there who don't know about God and interpret the Bible according to their own whims, rather than interpret according to how God wants us to read it.

The Bible is quite clear, but people muddy their understanding by making assumptions or reading into the writings their own beliefs. If more people asked God what scripture meant instead of asking other people, there wouldn't be so much confusion.

Many ask but don't bother for the answer. There is one way of understanding scripture. First one must start with the book of Proverbs. This should be studied until Proverbs is understood. Second would be to study Torah, the first five books of the bible. This lays down the foundation God wants in our hearts. These two parts, the wisdom of Proverbs and the understanding of Torah, will act as the key to unlocking all the rest of scripture.

But be prepared - reading scripture this way will open one's mind to how God thinks and how He wants people to live. It will challenge the reader and show where conventional thought and religions have gone astray. And then, when people are in sync with God's understanding and all together on the same page, then there won't be any personal interpretation but only God's interpretation.

Well it is not cryptic as you state, you need to remember that it was written 2000 plus years ago to a different culture and group of people, there is more to say but it would take all day to tell you about it

I think so too. It doesn't really matter though because it is a flawed, man-made book.
