I'm about to start a job, I'm really a second shift person, but I'm willing to work first whichi s what is immediately available. My friend and I have talked about how the mornings however go by really fast, is there any scientific evidence of any part of the day giong by the fastest to humans? I would assume because in the morning you are in tip top shape, everything seemingly goes by fastest. As I said, I'm not a morning person but i'm in debt. Should I hold out for a second shift position which seems comfortable, wake up at 2 and be @ work by 3 to be home by midnight, or should I wake up with my parents each morning, eat breakfast with them (i'm also like suicidally depressed in the mornings) but after the first breakfast look forward to a quikly passing day. I also have anxiety problems which could factor into this, and so i'm getting a predictable factory job as suggest in a previous post, what do you think? Spiritualists are good people so i'll post it here.

The Earth actually spins slightly faster at 3PM because that is when the sun is at its hottest.

Initially I wanted to say that if you need the money, take what's available, but I'm not a morning person either so I can understand how hard it would be to get up early. They say you can create a new habit if you do it for 21 days straight - so if you really need the money and need to start working, start getting up early and even on the days off. It will suck, but learn to love coffee if you don't already. :) Maybe you'll feel better as time wears on. If it really sucks, talk to the place after you're hired for the AM shift and ask for 2nd shift. Bottom line, if you don't have a lot of choices, I'm thinking you should take the early shift.

ok .... I tried last year working a second shift ( 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. ). but work site was too far that need to get from home at 2:00 , and spend the night there . morning go too fast .... but hv the advantage of being free when others r engaged , and u hv not to wake up early .......disadvantage is that when ur friends r free , u be at work . it's not a peoblem since it's a temporary job ,until u find better job. and remember : time passing too fast when u doing something u like , somewhere u like and with a guy u like , and V.V. ... 1 minute of a mathmetics lesson with an old bald classic teacher is longer than hours of football ....right ?

Mornings always seem to go by fastest. I keep busy during the mid hour days, time just flies by. I love it!! I am not normally a morning person either, But love working days rather than nights. Even if you don't get much sleep the night before, go home and take a nap after work and be refreshed for the rest of the day and night to have fun!!!

Also my boyfriend is a night person and switched from working 3 to midnight to 9 to 7. It took a little time to adjust to, but now he loves it and sees more of me.

Go for the job that is available first. If you can't handle it try for the other one. You might find that the morning shift is really good one! The part of the day that goes the fastest is the part where you are the busiest. Slack time REAALLLYY draaaaaags. So go for the busiest shift! Have fun!!!! :)

Go with what you're comfortable with. I'm a night person also and I keep your hours. I would hate to work first shift. It's a real drag. You may re-adjust after a few weeks but that varies from person to person. If you like to party, forget it. You'll hate mornings!

Do what makes you the happiest. I hate waking up early. I took a job where I start at 12:00 p.m.
