Hey I was just wondering if it was normal when a cat gives birth and after wont nurse the kittens? She wants nothing to do with them. She cleans them off and thats it. Also why doesn't she nurse them?? is that normal for a mother cat to do that?

It's normal yes, however it is NOT a good thing. Being involved with my cat shelter, Ive learned that when kittens dont start getting proper nutrition, they go down hill FAST. Dehydration, and the lack of nutrients will just detroy their little bodies. You need to get on those kittens ASAP. Go to a local pet store, or your vet and get some kitten formula, get a bottle and start playing mommy. If you want, wrap the kitten gently in a towel, or massage them on the back as they eat, it'll help them learn to trust you and eat. You can burp them to, helps them digest. If you dont have the time to be feeding them every 3-4 hours for awhile, your best bet would take them to a shelter (no kill of course) and let them take care of the kittens and find them good homes. As ive noticed in the shelter, after the kittnes get about 4-5 weeks old, the mother starts taking in more interest in nursing them. Ide say 8/10 times that starts to happen. Just please, start feeding those kittens yourself ASAP, or you'll lose them all.
Good Luck!

It can be normal, especially if it is her first litter.
You may be able to encourage her to accept them, by keeping on putting her in a box with them and soothing her as the kittens nurse. After a couple of days, though, you will need to start bottle feeding them if Mama cat won't feed them.
Barn cats and feral cats commonly 'lose' their first litter because of not nursing their babies.

This is not normal, and you should consult a vet ASAP. She may not have any milk for them, or she could be ill. You may need to raise the kittens yourself, so be prepared for that. Either way, get to a vet.
