I have a lot of hair in the back and a high for head. I live in TX and like to keep it short. I have very little time for fixing it because I am the 24/7 care-giver of a 96 year-old woman with dementia (one of my relatives). I have never been talented in this department. My hair is natural and uncolored or highlighted.

Try some Dove volumizing products.

Depending on how short your hair is, you can take a curling iron (don't get scared, this is really easy!!) and put it on your hair, then close it and slide it down to the tip of your hair and curl it under. That will help your hair stand up and off your head. A little Aussie flexible hold (the only real flexible hold hair spray that I've found) hair spray will keep it in place, off your head, and keep you cool.

Heat the mixture in pan and boil for 10 minutes. Strain, let the liquid cool down. While waiting.....Read many natural homemade tips for oily thick hair.....

You might consider using a hair color. It will help take the oil out of your hair and it also gives it more body. You can do it your self. I use the excellence 3. You jut read the instructions. I have been coloring my hair for over 30 years.
