Filesharing and Limewire got me some good stuff and it's all "free."
Adobe Premier, is really the premier video editor. Depends upon how knowledgeable you are with the entire process, but the Windows Movie Maker will really fit the bill a number of times, and it's a lot quicker than Adobe.
There is also the stuff from Ulead. Pretty user-friendly.

Well, it depends on what kinda hardware you used to capture the footage and what kinda video format you want to produce.
I suppose you want to produce a typical home video type of projects so I will miss out on the HDV stuff.
Ulead have some cool stuff, Ulead Movie Factory/Video Studio is good for beginners but if you want more control and advaced effects you can look at Ulead Media Studio.
Pinnacle Systems (They bought Snazzi too so same company) have a few software available. Pinnacle Studio is targeted for beginners and is easiest to use among all the software editers I have used before. I have nexer used Dazzle Video Creator before but I think it should be fairly easy too.
Adobe Premiere (by Adobe of course) is possibly the most powerful and most difficult to use. However, its relatively 'native' but powerful functions allows the creation of transitions and effects limited by only your own imagination.

2."ulead video studio" it's easier than 1 but it has good and fast to learn. you can mix your movie in the best wey.
3. "i film edit" it's a simple software. you can cut and edit as simple
4."vcd cutter" it is fast tool for edit a film
5."windows movie maker 2" this has many good tools for you and it's easy to use

I used Cyberlink Power Director , Power Producer recently and it seemed good to me.
