Start by playing a par 3 executive course (usually a 9 hole course) until you can score consistently average. When you start feeling confident with your play and stamina to play 9 or even 18 holes, then go try an easy full size course (ask around for one). After you get used to that, you will be ready for any course.

Work up to it. Don't push yourself too far at first, because then you tend to get bad habits that can be hard to correct.

you should begin working on the driving range and a par tree. you need to then start playing 9 holes of golf, then going on to 18 holes of golf.

None beginner's are a nuisance on the golf course. Do like they do in Japan,,, Spend years on the driving range and taking classes on etiquette, pass a test and get certified before you ever get on a golf course

Get comfortable being on a 9 hole executive course first before tackling an 18 hole course. Some 9 hole courses will still challenge you and allow you to use all your clubs.

Par 3's usually help with anyones's game...if you are a beginner though after plenty of driving range practice you should practice par 4's as you have a few more shots you can select from.

start playing on chip and putt courses (par 3) - the short irons and putting are the most important part of golf so get comfortable with that part of the game before you move on to the harder stuff
