Christ did not come to establish a religion...he came to fulfill the prophecies and establish a way to know God personally. The 3 religions (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) were not establish by Christ, but they all in some way are connected to him. So to be concise, Christ did not establish a true religion, he established a relationship.

The true religion he established was pointed out by Shaul (aka Paul) where people are to remeber the widows and the orphans.
As for what people may understand better -- Yeshua condemned the customs and traditions of the Pharisees and was establishing a return to God and His Torah.
He didn't establish or endorse any religion. His message was simple - return to God and to God's Torah. The same message preached by all prophets that came after Moses.

Actually Christ did not establish anything. After centuries of bickering, killing, burning, destroying and trying to decide on the CORRECT and Proper version of belief the Christian faith came in to being in the 4th century AD. It's official title was the Catholic Orthodox Church. (Catholic from the Greek meaning all encompassing, Orthodox from the Greek meaning the correct the right faith. The complete title of the Patriarch of Alexandria still is Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and all Africa. The bickering continues and finally in 1054 the church splits in two. The Roman Catholic and the Greek Orthodox. Then from 1378 to 1417 the Roman Church is split in to two parts with two popes. No you decide which is the true religion established by who. The roman finally split up to create the protestants. They all CLAIM TO BE THE TRUE ONE.

Jesus was not and is not a religion or religious establishment. Jesus came that all could have salvation through him. Jesus established himself as the true rock upon which to build salvation. Religion was formed by man and not God. Anyone can have religion. Any one can religiously worship. Whether it is God, money or Satan people can religiously worship. It's not about the name over the door! It's about whether or not you have Jesus living in your heart.
Jesus gave the Disciples two commandments for which all churches should base their beliefs:
7 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
If you can live your life according to these commandments and believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus died and rose again! You shall be saved.
St. Peter won't be standing at the Pearly Gates asking what Church or religion do you belong to. If he is standing there at all he will be asking have you been washed by the blood of Jesus!

Simply put that He is the fulfillment of the Old Testament prophesies of the coming Messiah. The Old testament testifies of Him.
His second coming He will set every right.
He came to set messianic judism on the right course with His brand belief system and not in conflict with the Old Testament as some people think.
