Yep, I did meth for about 5 years. Been clean for almost 19 now. I started doing it because I was in a very demanding management job and working 16 or more hours per day and it gave me energy, made me feel great, get lots of work done, not have to sleep, had time to have friends...

And then the bottom falls out.

Lesson is drugs make you feel great at first. Then the drag you down by your neck until they either kill you or you get your arms around them and strangle them...

And it is hard. For the rest of your life you will miss that great feeling they gave you and instead, you remember how after that they drug you down thru the mud and say, no, no no, I am never going down that road again..

God Bless every recovering addict.... and you too.

you do them because of curiosity, but i think a line is crossed when you do them to solve a problem, or fill some sort of need. i've done a lot of drugs, but i think that i've always been in the company of good friends who i know would never choose drugs over their careers, schooling, familly etc. i think i understand different situations, people and i get a better perspective now that i've done some drugs...i can at least talk about them from a first hand experience rather then just a text book.

Yes. I have done pot, ecstacy, acid, and prescription painkillers (these were for a reason for the most part and I am a chronic pain patient now, but I used to do them recreationally on occasion).

Why? Well, at the time, when I was 19, I was dating a guy who smoked pot constantly. I had never tried any drugs except those that had been prescribed to me by a doctor. I was really in love with this guy and I wanted to be with him in every way possible. It was hard not to feel left out when everyone else was smoking up and having fun but I didn't do it. I started doing it to be a part of things. Then we tried x together, and I felt really close to him. We candy flipped the first night, so that was when I tried acid. Later in our relationship he got into meth. I never did it, but if I took pain pills I could feel like I was a part of what he was doing and hang out with theguys all night while they were awake because I didn't want to go to sleep and lose the good feeling I had from the pills. I just wanted to be with him and be a part of his world and feel like I was close to him, and drugs seemed like the only way to do that. But, he loved meth more than me, and I couldn't compete. Thankfully I met and married a wonderful, CLEAN man who is incredible to me, and I don't take drugs for recreation anymore. What's not fortunate is that I now have a bigger pain pill prescription than ever because I have debilitating chronic pain. My ex wound up in prison for 18 months (he's out now).

The question should be which drugs haven't I tried. I've tried them all......I guess it was due to boredom. Some drugs make you feel so wonderful. You can't explain a lot of them, you just have to try them. It's different for everyone.
