Following a religion is one of the most exciting experiences you can have. You will start to live by a new way of life and culture, you will see things that previously you were completely blind to. This journey can last a life time and may even involve changing religions in the process. Try to true to yourself, get a good grounding on what religions teach. If you are free and single, visit religious orders, communities, collages and talk to priests see what sort of 'Good Works' they do and see how they affect the communities in positive ways. Often what you here on the media is far removed from the real life of a practising follower of a religion. The Muslim faith is a tempting one or try staying at a kibbutz. Always be careful of personalities in the religions, they can lead you astray. Follow the religion not a charismatic leader that is so damaging in Christianity today. People are very important in finding your religion though, maybe the most important part of any religion is the 'council of the faithful' more so that the 'holy books' and places.
There is good and bad in all religions so make sure you try to be part of the solution not the problem.
Best of luck. Hope I have not put you off - go for it and keep a blog.

Hello,Why not try a religion a month or so for the next 5-10 years! just think of all the new people you could meet, i think you will find all religions to be warm and welcoming to you and willing to share all that's good in there belief.
Then 5-10 down the road you will most probably have lots of new friends, your awareness off the world around you will be vastly improved and hopefully you will be enlightened to which, if any religion you would like to follow.
Just wish i had the get up and go to do the same!

And just imagine if every one could do the same, and do it with a open mind and willingness not to argue about the truth..etc Hey i can dream..

Never ask others about what religion to follow. There are too many who would like to clone their beliefs on you. You should always pick out one for yourself.
I was raised in a Christian household, and am still a Christian, but I sure my parents are digging their way out of their graves to tell me how I'm doing it wrong.
Your religious beliefs should never completely conform to anyone else’s. Investigate by going to various houses of worship and find one that closely matches how you believe, or just make your own by believing how you want. Just form a belief that keeps you away from danger, and allows you to care for those around you and it you'll be all right.
If you find it hard to believe in Christ, or even God, that too will be fine.
I truly believe that God cares more about how we interact with each other, and our environment, than having us dusting off church floors with our knees. What you believe is more important than what people say you should believe. And always question your beliefs, and the answers you find will always make your faith stronger and it will always grow new with you.
I know I don't have all the right answers yet, nor do I expect to find them all ether, but I will keep looking as well. I always liked the line, "God help me in my search for the truth, and protect me from those that have found it." Faith is all about the journey, not the destination.
Good Luck...

You make religion sound like a shopping choice.
Work out who you are first. If you feel that a religion expresses that, then learn more. You can learn a lot from all religions. You may find that you are happier taking wisdom from many different places but following your own path.

Religion is the hive and realization is the honey. So where you feel that the hive is able to give you what you want then continue.

Another comparison that can be drawn is that when a man is in search of water that is sweet, he can wander from from one well to another till he reaches the place that will satisfy him. Once he reaches that point, then he should continually drink from that one well till he reaches the source.

Same with religion

I quite fancy being a Jedi, personally. The outfits are cool and you get a bitchin' lightsabre. Plus you can mess around with all your weak-minded mates!

I always got a lot of time for Jehovah's Witnesses - they practise what they preach and don't water it down just to get bums on pews. They're also pretty much the only Christian religion who actually stick to the Bible in its entirety.

If you're looking for a non-Christian solution I can't really help you.

I would say follow Christ. He gives you new beginnings. He gives you direct access to Almighty God, and He gives you The Holy Spirit who carries His authority and power.

Towards the end of a Christian meeting, just as everyone was leaving, a woman came up to the preacher to ask for help. The preacher was just about to go home, but stayed to listen to the woman's story.

"I am a moslem" she said, "I have just moved into a house in the area. My husband left me and put a curse on the house. There is an evil spirit in it. Now it is full of bangs and crashes, and it gets so loud, the neighbours complain.

"I called in my Imam, but he was not able to do anything about it. He told me that you have dealt with these things before, and so I come to you for help."

The preacher told the woman she needed to accept Christ into her life. The woman was then baptised in The Holy Spirit.

"Go home," the preacher said "You now have power and authority over these spirits. Just do what The Holy Spirit tells you to do, and come back next week to tell me how you are doing."

Next week the woman came back and told the preacher "It's wonderful. Not only did the spirits leave, but I see Jesus in every room."

You have to choose your own religion. Don't let anyone tell you what religion to follow.

Don't follow ant religion! Thankfully Jesus didn't come to establish a religion but to establish a relationship between man and God. I would suggest you study your Bible and then go out and find a church which follows the Bible teachings the closest. A person can become saved simply by reading the Bible.

I hope that you will choose Christianity. I urge you to look into it, because the bible, when understood correctly, has so much wisdom in it that will apply to every aspect of your life. It even tells about the problems we face today. Just don't get stuck on the things you don't understand. If something is unclear, ask for help and find out what it means.

But the first thing that you need to do is just to pray to God. Almost every faith has a supreme being as it's focus...pray to God, tell Him that you are confused and that you don't really know who He is but that you would like to.

Ask him to help you find a church that you can belong to and feel comfortable in. People think that they don't need a church to feel strong in their faith, but a church community can help you SO much. Especially in the beginning, when you are just starting to know God.

I like protestant churches like Baptist or just general Christian churches, because they are always so welcoming and kind. I'll say a prayer for you right now! God bless you as you seek the Lord.
