the mother (your daughter) should be taken in for testing. if she is HIV positive, then she can be given certain drugs that ordinarily prevent the baby from being infected.

if the mother is HIV negative, then the baby and mother are fine.

The person to be talking to is a doctor, not a bunch of yahoos on Yahoo!

If your daughter is not HIV-positive, the baby is not at risk. Unfortunately, the chances that your daughter has HIV are not in her favor. There are drug treatments (ZDV) for her that will help prevent her passing the virus to the child.

Your daughter needs to be tested immediately. The tests often show nothing for months after exposure, so she should be put on the drugs regardless of the results.

Her boyfriend should be locked up.

Mom needs to be tested for HIV/AIDS on the ASAP!! There is a faint chance the unborn baby can enter the world NEGATIVE for HIV/AIDS, however--such chances are slim, and tragic if he/she is born HIV.

Also, I'd look into finding out if boyfriend knew he was HIV BEFORE having sex with daughter. If he DID know, he can face some serious legal problems. I'd hire a good lawyer, who can subpoena his medical files for this information.....and take the best action from there.

Have your daughter get tested. If she is HIV+ there is a medication she can take to lower the chance of her passing the disease onto her baby.

Since HIV is not carried in the genes, if your daughter is not already HIV+ she will not get the disease from the baby, because the baby will not have it.

Even if the mom is HIV+, a pill can be given to the mother and a serum to the fetus before birth. This can significantly reduce chances of passing on the infection (most mother-child infections occur through blood/fluid exposure during birth).

the baby wont get affected but if the mom also acquire the HIV positivity then the baby will too get infected sice the baby does not develop yet an antibody to fight for that disease.

because the dad is HIV positive doesn't make the baby so... If the mom is HIV positive, she will infect the baby and if mom isn't the baby will be fine.
