ok. once i start my computer, windows professional, it boots up and when it gets to the screen where windows is loading, the window before you login, it automatically restarts then does this forever. please help. if u need more detail send me a email

Then check your Event Viewer for errors that may cause you system to fail. Start> Control Panel> Adminisrative Tools> vent Viewer.

Your computer is not broke! Your hard drives are not broke.
The issues has to do with the start up files that Windows look for at boot time. Windows has a problem with one of these files:
NTDETECT, CONFIG, NTLR, NTLPD. BOOT.INH, BOOT.
Because of this issue, it restarts the boot process.

First try to start in Safe mode (by pressing F8 just after powering on). Then run scandisk. If its not booting in Safe mode, then try command prompt (by same process, F8). And run chkdsk /F . It may fix errors on your Harddisk. Try to restart again. If that also fails, then re-install XP

Press the F8 key repeatedly while booting and see if you can get into safe mode. Then run scan and try and reboot.

Another thing to try in safe mode is to run CHKDSK in the CMD prompt.
Also go and remove any programs that you installed just prior to this incident
