Are mineral oil and petroleum jelly really bad for your hair? It seems like every product make for African Americans has these oils in them. Does anyone know of natural hair products that don't contain these oils?

Have you tried jojoba oil? Coconut oil? Both of these oils are natural and good for hair. Coconut oil is fab for pre-wash oiling to condition and moisturize hair. Jojoba oil closely mimics your natural sebum. It is wonderful for after washing oiling. Shea butter is also good for hair. A tiny bit, melted and worked through your hair ends and length. Very moisturizing.

All are available in your local natural or whole foods store.

Personally, I don't put petrolium products in my hair. Or on my skin.
