If a person has no religious feeling, why should he not work on Christmas, a day that he says has no meaning for him?
And, because religious holidays have no meaning for him, what kind of "holiday" (from the Middle English, "Holy Day") would be appropriate?
You can't eat your cake and have it, too. Either you have convictions, or you don't.

Considering all of the major holidays are pagan in origin anyway, I don't see that it makes a difference.
That's right kids, Easter is actually about eggs and bunnies, not Jesus.
And Christmas is actually about the birth of the Sun God, not the birth of the son of god.

Even though I'm a Christian, i'm taught not to judge, so maybe you could see athiesm as sort of a religion in itself, i guess. They're entitled to days off, so maybe they should create their own holidays and leave the days of religious observance to those who know the meaning and believe in them.

Nope. We should get to have ALL the other religious holidays for having to put up with such lazy and irresponsible religious people. 'Oh, I have to be in church tomorrow, I cant come to work...' 'You do realize this massive project has to be presented tomorrow and you knew abotu that THREE MONTHS AGO!' 'Well, my religion forbids me from working tomorrow'...
Feh. When Christians stop going to church on Sunday and follow the commandment to keep Sabbath holy (Which is friday at sunset to saturday at sunset), then I'll worry about the exceptions.

Your question makes little sense due to your narrow focus on atheism alone. The same could be asked about any non-Christian group. Should we force Jews and Hindus to work Christmas too? Many atheists (and other non-Christians) do work on Christian holidays.

Why should they? Nearly all of the "Christian" holy days are celebrating on pagan holy days ... despite the belief of many to the contrary. One day is as good as the next.
But please, stop making a big deal about "happy holidays" ... it's really stupid to boycott stores for such silly nonsense.

I HAVE GREAT NEWS.....
You can be anything you want, do anything you want in your life, didn't anyone ever explain that to you.
You can make your own holidays, and days off, don't you already?
Go ahead, no one is stopping you, or do you want someone else to go first,,?
Enjoy your life, and remember, we are free , all of us to do as we please,
Just understand, there is a price to pay for everything, if you can afford it,,,

Nope. If people legislate religion into law, then this is one of the consequences they must bear...
Religious holdiays adhered to by both those who believe and those who don't.
