No more so than innoculating oneself against diseases. There is an old song that has been taught in sunday school classes for centuries.
"The wise man built his house upon the rock, the foolish man built his house upon the sand, and the rains came tumbling down."
That basically means - do the smart thing. If you don't want floods, hurricaines, sunamis and so forth to destroy your homes, build them on higher, solid ground. It is called prudence, God gave you a mind, so he expects you to use it.
The church with a lightning rod would likely have to have them due to building codes, however, even if they were put up without that requirement, it is prudence, not a lack of faith.

Good question!
Made me laugh a little!
Never thought of it that way, but a STEEPLE is very attractive to lightning!
OK, I got it.
It's not a lightning rod, it's a Cross, that just happens to have a thick wire leading to the ground below to stablize it in high winds!

No, it doesn't
Assuming God exists, why would you imagine him flinging lightning bolts to show displeasure at his worshippers?
Assuming God exists, why does he have to take a personal interest in what happens to people? I mean, if he's omnipotent, he'll just sit back and let the laws of physics handle the gruntwork of where lightning strikes. Less petty that way...

LOL.
No, it shows a respect for the laws we live under. GOD gifted us with free will, we can just have faith that tall structures will not be hit , or prepare for natural events both good and bad. Personally I will prepare for the worst, every time.

No, they show an understanding of the Scriptures.
"Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. Matthew 4:5-7

No, they show an abundance of faith in scientific principles.
Now if we could get these insane asylums to give up teaching literal creationism, we'd be doing good.

No, they would have nothing to do with faith, rather it is that the builder adheres to building codes and the codes reflect that nature does not play favorites.
