Girlfriend, love your father, but love him from a distance. That's all you can do. He will never change, and he is attempting to father you as if you are 2 years old, and exert influence over you now that it is too little too late. But, he is going about it the wrong way, especially since you are a grown woman, with your own thoughts, opinions and values and doing quite well.

There is never any guarantee that we will like our parents, even when we have grown up in their care. Parents owe a responsibility to their offspring not the offspring to the parents. If it is all too much for you ask this man, who through a sexual act 26/27 years ago fathered you, but has done no more than that, to take however many steps backwards so that you once again feel comfortable with your life.

Sweety, he is only a man with good sperm. Being a father doesn't make him this super type of person.
Surround yourself with beautiful relationships (sperm or no sperm). Do a better job then your parents and create wonderful memories for your children.

You don't have to keep him in your life just because he's your father. He was never in your life, and now he's in too much of it. I'd tell him how you feel, and tell him to knock it off. If he doesn't, I'd severely limit how much time he has with you.
